I have stayed several times at this hotel with no complaints however on this occasion my experience was very disappointing. I understand fully that due to Covid 19 it was never going to be the same as before but the chap on reception and the chap behind the bar were anything but welcoming. No smiles, no friendly chat and altogether very dismissive. Our arrival information said bar food would be served from 1pm but on trying to order was informed that bar food would not be served until 6pm which was no use to us as we had booked our evening meal for 7.30pm. The pub up the street could serve food all day so I don’t understand why the hotel could not? I would seriously have to think before booking this hotel again.

On arrival staff We're very helpful . We then left for the day so just put our bags in and left . We returned back very late and got to bed . I didn't sleep as bed was small for two people and very in comfortable the floors where all Un even was as if I was walking and they were going to fall in Room was clean . Breakfast next morning was nice . If bed had been better it would have been really good stay

We were super impressed with the Covid measures put in place at this stunning hotel. The staff were very attentive and the set up at breakfast was efficient and faultless. Location is stunning at the hotel and we would definitely recommend it.

We where very unsatisfied with our room , we where constantly asked if we where staying at the hotel by a bar staff member we also ordered a pot of mussels from the menu which were not fresh as we ordered when we put this to staff and where told as we had eat some of them they could not replace them we payed for them and couldn’t get out that place quick enough, would not recommend this place to anybody we know . Very poor hotel , most of the staff where nice apart from the bar staff .

Stayed 2 nights at the Arrocher hotel room 234 was basic but comfortable, unfortunately didn't overlook the Loch but not every room can .breakfast was good both days although on the Saturday morning the guy serving breakfast was quite rude and should maybe stay in the kitchen as all the other staff were very courteous and polite.the evening meal was disappointing more like canteen food than restaurant standard but maybe we just had a bad night which happens at the best of places .We had a problem in our room when we flushed the toilet the water from the cistern flooded the bathroom floor I reported it to the hotel manager and we were told that the hotel was fully booked so we couldn't change rooms and the maintenance man was unavailable !!! The duty manager was apologetic when we checked out and knocked £10 off the bill.Overall the hotel is basic but good value for what you pay and the views from hotel and the great location make the hotel a good choice .Check out the little tea shack outside the hotel the almond cakes were amazing.

The food we had at the Arrochar Hotel was lovely, really tasty dishes and a wide & varied menu. I couldn't fault them on their kitchen at all. The view we had from our bedroom was amazing and we were very lucky with the weather we had when we stayed. However, the room was slightly smaller than expected and very cold when we got there as the the window was open. Closed window & turned on the heater to try to heat the place up - smelt like it was burning dust. The room felt like it hadn't been used for a long time. We had to move a bedside cabinet to get to plug socket (only 2 sockets in the room) & there was was about an inch of dust behind the bedside table. The headboard had 3 padded leather sections and if you ran your finger along them, there was a huge collection of dust build up. On the top of the brown curtains, there was a very visible layer of dust collected in the folds of the curtains (just on the visible layer of the curtains - I didn't climb up and run my finger along the top, Four In A Bed style). The bathroom was very tired, bath was chipped and the shower was one that was fed from the bath taps. Even with the tap on full, there was no . (we turned on a switch outside the bathroom, thinking this was to heat the shower but it did nothing - there were no instructions as these had all been removed because of H&S) The shower panel had a torn rubber seal at the bottom, which meant the water leaked out and swamped the bathroom. The bath mat was once white but now it was a yucky yellow/brown colour, which was off-putting. The bed was very hard, the mattress was very thin and the pillows were as flat as pancakes. Weirdly, after our first night, the bed was made & all tucked in but the pillows were left in the same position from when we had slept on them. At our breakfast on the second day, there had obviously been a change in staff as the tables were left dirty for a long time & one waiting staff had a loud rant of "help me, I have only one pair of hands" in the dining room, in front of guests. When we went to check out, there was over £40 of incorrect charges on our bill and the receptionist made a lot of huffing noises when I pointed these out and took a long time to sort it out. She blamed the way we had booked the hotel on why the extra charges were there. No apology. I understand that the hotel may have been shut for a while due to the Covid lockdown but surely it is important to make sure the rooms are at least cleaned & aired properly before use.

Amazing weather and stunning views, had a lovely 3 night stay, lucky enough to see the bottle nosed whales many times that were in the loch. Plenty sanitiser points in public areas, felt safe. Room was very clean and cosy, tv was a bit troublesome on the first night but this was resolved by the next day, can watch TV anytime so not a problem for us, Staf very pleasant, took time to have a chat. Surprised that you had to order food and drinks at the bar though given covid situation, unable to pay by card at bar either which was really odd. This is a 3 star hotel, but is very clean comfortable and a good choice if you are needing a few days away from it all to explore the area. The views won't let you down, make sure you ask for a loch view room to get the benefit.

Hotel reception area smells musty however this was not an issue in the room which was clean but decor dated. WIFI throughout. We had dinner and breakfast which were tasty and reasonably priced.

I would like to say our stay was brilliant, hotel dealt with COVID great, we got booked in fine and went to our room which I paid extra for a loch view wasn’t disappointed, except for the wether view was brilliant, we had dinner in the restaurant the first night, couldn’t fault the food or service, second night we sat in the bar and it was the same couldn’t fault a thing, breakfast because of COVID wasn’t a buffet but sill got to go up a choose what you wanted, where it went wrong was check out, we were given the bill, we were supposed to get £30 off our dinner which wasn’t taken off, but when I mentioned it the girl looked and took it off straight away, my partner looked at the bill in the car and and seen we had been charged twice for dinner on the first night, same price which none of what we had came to that, she went in and showed it to the girl. The girl checked it and asked her manager for help and one of them was given back to us, if we hadn’t checked the £30 I got of and the amount my partner got back we would have been £57 out of pocket. It wouldn’t stop us going back as the stay overall was brilliant, just check ur bill,

Fantastic stay again at this hotel but my only complaint was I wish they would have handles in the showers. No disability rooms make stepping over the bath a problem. Handles and bath boards would be good to have for those with limited mobility. All staff at this hotel are exceptional and we love to stay here when we can. Next time can we order the sunshine please ? ??

I have numerous complaints to make about the hotel-I was shocked when I realised that there was no mattress protector on my bed, also no protectors on the pillows. The bed base was VERY old and noisy when I moved whilst in bed. The duvet was old and grey. There were stains (they were small) in the toilet and stubbly beard hairs on the taps of the sink. The bath mat was old, stained, marked and actually had mould on the underside! There were no spoons to stir our tea/coffee. I know things have been very difficult during the pandemic but I don’t feel the situation excuses all these faults. I’m probably quite critical as I have travelled extensively and stayed in some fantastic hotels around the world (Dubai, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Singapore, Paris and more) but these comments I have made highlight some basic problems. You maybe asking yourself why I didn’t check out of the hotel, although I did consider doing so, I wanted to support the local community, my partner had insisted on paying me back for the two night stay, so I did not want to cause a fuss. I didn’t notice that there was no mattress protector until the second night, if I had noticed this when we first gained entry to the room I would have complained to a member of staff/management. The staff were very nice, food very good apart from my partner’s burger on our first night there, it was very hard, inedible in fact. I did complain but nothing was done regarding this complaint. However, our three course meal (which was included in the two night stay price) was really lovely, my baked Camembert was delicious, as was the roast turkey and my lemon drizzle cake was one of the lightest, most delicious sponges I have ever tasted, full marks to the chef! I feel if a few changes were made, new items (essential items) were purchased for the rooms for example the Arrochar Hotel would be a great place to stay. Thank you.

Lovely stay with our dog at Arrochar. Great location for views across Loch Long. Covid procedures in place and nearly everyone adhered to policy. Very dog friendly which was great for us. Bedroom had recently been painted and everything seemed clean and fresh for an older hotel. Menus were available to eat in the bar where dogs were allowed. Food was fresh and tasty on the two nights we stayed. Very reasonable price for b and b and additional costs of food and drinks. Nice walks close by. Would return Only room for improvement would be that there is a big sign saying table service, but you do need to order at the bar.
