When we arrived at the hotel we were given room 207 which was like an attic room with no window but had two skylights. The room and bathroom were well fitted out to a high standard and the bed was comfortable. However I felt boxed in without a window. Also on our second night we spent all evening swatting flies, no fly spray was available. We killed two dozen (no exaggeration), but in the morning they were back again. We asked to be moved and on our third night were moved into a superior room with a balcony, which was lovely. There was a pleasant friendly atmosphere in the hotel and staff were very helpful. Meals were very good and there was a wide window of time for breakfast and dinner which we liked. There is lots to do and see in the area, beautiful scenery and we will definitely go again.

Was given a two day voucher as a present and added another two days on. When we arrived we were given a room which was like a loft with two skylights. Although the room was well presented and comfy It felt strange to be unable to see out. We asked to be moved the next morning and were given a superior room for the last two nights. Staff were lovely. All very helpful. Meals were excellent and served promptly. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. The rooms we saw were well decorated, well furnished and attractive. Dining room and bar etc well fitted out and plenty of space. There was a party one night and a wedding the next day but we were not disturbed at all. Plenty of car parking. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby and beautiful scenery. We will use this hotel again.

We were not very happy as the shower was cold. We did report this on the evening of arrival, as the previous guests had left their questionair in the room. It was dated the 19th they had aslo noted cold shower, we reported this three more times. We guess as it was a weekend there wasnt a maintaniance man on duty. We think that we should have been offered another room, we also reported we couldnt get bbc channel. The young lady on duty told us whilst we were at dinner on the saturday evening it would be looked into. That also wasnt done

The room was very comfortable, a little cool at times, food excellent, but bar prices a little expensive and understaffed at peak times. the functions tended to use up the parking facilities, difficulty parking! Our gift did not include breakfast, which is down to the gift Ideas for Two organisation, this was very dissapointing to our children whom purchased the gift!

Nice quiet hotel with a nice drinks bar serving afternoon tea, although slow on service. The restaurant was good, but it would have been nice to have a change of menu.

The Buckatree Hall Hotel was very easy to find with ample parking and set in lovely grounds. On the edge of the Wrekin Forest with well signed posted walks. Our room was very quite with its own private balcony perfect us to enjoy the views and for our dog. The staff were friendly and welcoming to us and our dog! Our only problem was the weather it rained each day and whilst the hotel is dog friendly in hotel rooms they do not allow dogs in restaurant or bar. This wasn't a problem for us but is something other guests may need to consider.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice and clean rooms. A great little gym. Lovely grounds and nice location. Only criticism was hotel is a little dated and the bar was a little expensive for spirits and no bar snacks e.g. crisps, nuts. Would definitely visit again! As you would expect of a 3 star hotel.

Warm welcome from Laura on Reception on arrival. Room was fine, looks as if it, and much of the hotel had been recently refurbished and the bathroom was new, excellent shower and lovely fluffy towels. Room serviced by delightful lady, Jo. Balcony overlooking lake small but two comfortable chairs, however the floor required a wash/scrub. Some ocasional noise from pipe when bathroom being used next door. Restauraunt had a coach party at Dinner, so although busy, the service was very good. However my wife's fish main course very dissapointing, hard-over cooked. Brought to the attention of the waiter who said he would tell his manager, but heard no more. Ate in a local pub the following night . Do not normally have breakfast so unable to comment. Would we stay there again? Quite possibly, it is in a good spot for vacationing in Shropshire. The staff are pleasant, just need to pay more attention to the food.

Dear Mr Dodd, Thank you for taking the time to post a review, I am disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your evening meal and would like to extend my apologies. We take a great deal of pride in all that we do and I would like to assure you that your comments have been discussed with our chef. I am pleased to enjoy that this has detracted from a pleasant stay and that you found your room comfortable. Regards,

2 night stay, bedroom only had skylight no full window but having said that room was clean and spacious. Could have done with more toiletries, only one small shower gel for two people, towels very nice, large and fluffy. No comment on food as we ate out. Good place to stay.

Hotel reply...

Dear Miss Beck, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I am pleased you found us a good place to stay. Our toiletries are limited in both size and quantity as we believe most guests bring their own, however, more are always available on request. As a standard we provide 1x hair/body wash, body lotion and soap. Regards,

From the moment we arrived we were made extremely welcome. The room was very good with a nice view. Reception enquired whether we were dining and showed us the very complete menu. My wife has IBS and Diverticulitis which makes dining very difficult, however the Lady Chef came and spoke to us and arranged a very good choice of starters, main and sweet. The next day the Chef had printed out a full choice menu for my wife. We feel that she went the extra mile in making our stay perfect as food for my wife is very difficult to arrange. All of the staff tried their very best to make our stay a memorable occasion and truly it was. At nearly 70 years of age we have done a lot of travelling and stayed at VERY expensive Hotels. All of whom could take a leaf from the Buckatree's attitude to true customer service. As you can guess, yes we will be going back and have already told a lot of our friends how good the Hotel and staff are and have no hesitation in recommending them.
