Superb room, well laid out and nice decor. Could be explained at check in that kettles are available as tassimo machine is not for everyone's taste!.Food quality good and dinner experience was good though breakfast experience I feel could be better. Breakfast menu was explained though it needs to be made clearer that fried or poached eggs need to be ordered. Staf pleasant and work hard. Would recommend this hotel to others.

Each of the three nights we had to remind dining room staff they had not deducted our £15 allowance against dinner. The computer system seemed to be complicated !!! All staff pleasant and efficient.

The staff and this hotel are friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, well equipped and clean. The food is good quality and portions are generous. HOWEVER. There were 2 weddings when we were there and the noise level from the functions was horrendous. Fortunately our room was at the far end of the hotel but other guests were expected to sleep in rooms below the function suite with music and dancing until 1am. Another smaller issue was allowing guests into the dining room in pyjamas, a bit lacking in taste for me.

I would rate this hotel higher than a 3 star. I would have preferred a simple kettle with tea bags, coffess etc. The toilet seat in the room (241) needed tightening - would have done it myself but toilet surround is sealed with mastic. Have recommended it to others and I would consider coming agan

We had an excellent stay at this hotel , lovely room which although is due to be refurbished was really comfortable with balcony and gorgeous views . Food was excellent and all staff friendly and helpful . Would recommend this hotel .

We had a superb 3 day DBB break a Derwent Manor Hotel. Our room was excellent, very spacious with a large en-suite. The views from our room were fabulous. Restaurant offered a very good selection of meals, both set meal and a la carte. All meals were beautifully presented and most enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have seen. All staff were very friendly, always smiling and helpful. We couldn't single out any one - they were all A1. One of the best and we will certainly be back.

On arrival we were upgraded to the bridal suite from a standard double. We had an amazing stay in lovely surroundings. The food is great and the staff are friendly and helpful. This was our second stay and we'll definitely stay again.

excellent stay, newly refurbished room but a shame the bath surround has water damage causing the bath panel to come away. Excellent room with patio doors to the grounds perfect for us with our dog Merlin.

On arrival greeted by a bright, friendly young lady who quickly dealt with our check in. The room on the first floor overlooked the small entrance road and provided lovely views far across the country side. The room looked newly fitted out with dark fittings and a very large double bed with ample pillows. A large flat screen tv provided as was a coffee maker. The bathroom likewise was very new and fresh with bath with fixed overhead square shower head and smaller hand shower unit. We had some reservations as the evening meal allowance was only £15 for three courses. As it turned out the options under that fixed menu were more than adequate and of very good quality and value. The A la carte menu was mainly Italian dishes. The breakfast was an ample buffet style arrangement offering a wide choice of cereals/drinks/fruit/cheeses/pastries etc coupled to the usual bacon/black pudding/mushrooms/beans/ etc etc all piping hot. Eggs - fried/poached/scrambled were made to order. We were impressed with not only with the food selection/quality but by the friendly efficient service of the staff in the dining room who could not do enough for us. The only downside to our stay was a wedding taking place on our last night was pretty loud due no doubt to the evening being warm and the windows in the function room being open meaning little sleep could be had until it finished at 1.00am. Again on checkout another pleasant and friendly young lady dealt with our account qickly and efficiently. All in all value for money wise we could not fault this Best Western hotel and will seriously consider returning in the future.

On arrival our room was almost ready although we were early. It was clean and quite well appointed apart from a lack of drawers for storage. As we were only there for two nights this was not an insurmountable problem. A new and very modern drinks machine was in the room however I was unable to follow the diagrammatic instructions. Reception were very quick to send a porter to our room but regrettably he was also unable to get it to work. Very shortly after, an electric kettle arrived at our room with a generous supply of ingredients. The wonderful staff had come up trumps once more! The food was excellent, breakfast superb and service that could not be bettered. This was not our first visit to the Derwent Manor and we again found little if anything to complain about. It remains highly recommended and we look forward to our next visit.

Stayed here for 2 nights earlier this week , beautiful hotel , great service , nothing was too much trouble , gorgeous food with great choice, would Defo been going back , thank u team Derwent Manor :)
