Stayed for two night break on B & B basis. Room was a good size and clean. Double bed was actually two singles pushed together and were different heights, rather unusual concept, but were comfortable. Spacious bathrooms but a little dated in decor. Good choice at breakfast but as other guests have commented, waiting for chef to made egg dishes was a little inconvenient. Husband gave up waiting both mornings. Couldn't fault the chef it was just the volume of guests queuing, not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.Did feel like we were eating in a railway station, not particularly homely but having said this we will return, but only on a special deal basis. Is it a 5 star? Definitely 5 star prices but missing something to make it special.

My sister and I both had a wonderful relaxing stay at The Fairmont.This is with no doubt a five star hotel with wonderful food,staff and surroundings.

Fairmont Hotel was fantastic staff excellent and very friendly and professional, the service as you would expect from a 5 star hotel.Stunning location. would recommend.

The bedrooms are very nice, although some are decorated in very drab colours. Higher number rooms, eg 3099 can feel as though guests are a bit isolated and can be along walk from elevators for elderly or infirm guests. Service is what you would expect from a five-star hotel. Everyone was helpful and courteous. Biggest letdown , for us anyway, was the food. Breakfast buffet food was not warm. Probably left lying too long in the containers. Also proved nigh on impossible to get water to add to tea which was truly boiling -lukewarm just about covers it. Quality of evening meal was better but with a limited choice - and it was the same menu every night of our stay. All in, though, tha Fairmont is a good place to spend some relaxing time.

Spectacular setting. Nice Room. Atrium area has no atmosphere. Food at Squires restaurant (more like canteen) a let down, never experienced a 10 minute queue for breakfast in a 5 star hotel before, not enough staff to clear table efficiently and poorly organised, then a mad scamble for cold and past it's best fare. Service not the best, but redeemed by the enthusiasm and friendliness of the young bar manager who was on duty in Kittocks bar on Sunday night, he brought the score for sevice up to the 7 below, Don't think I would spend my money there again.

We have stayed in this Hotel twice before and thoroughly enjoyed our stay,even recommending the Fairmont to friends.On this occassion the food at breakfast was cold and inediblle,guests had to make their own toast and service was very slow. One morning we had to ask for tea as no member of staff approached our table. We stayed for four nights and on the last night we waited 45 minutes for our Starter to arrive. The choice on the Menu was very limited and remained unchanged for the four nights of our stay. Front of house and bar Staff were very good and we do not blame Dining Staff as they were obviously under pressure as the Hotel was very busy during the School Holiday break.Management were conspicious by their absence at all times of the day and evening and probably remain blissfully unaware of the problems faced by their Staff and the frustration of their Guests.Their policy seems to be "If I am not aware of a problem I do not have to deal with it"

Beautiful hotel, great service and food. Bedrooms lovely, although have stayed in slightly larger for a 5* and also bathrooms getting very slightly dated (but still OK). Would definitely stay again

Minor hiccup at check in-asked for room near lift+ a sea view-got neither. Eventually got a compromise but was disappointed that they had not followed up on my initial request. BUT great time-usual American high standard of service-friendly yet professional staff at all levels. Oh and a FANTASTIC PRICE !!!

We stayed in a Kingroom overlooking part of the golf course. The bedroom and bathroom were really nice and clean. Large kingsize bed was comfy. All the staff we encountered could not have been any more pleasant or helpful. They are a real credit to the hotel. We booked dinner at the Clubhouse on our first night but it was raining. The staff arranged for us to be driven in the minibus along the road and then came back to collect us when we were finished. Our only (small) complaint was the long queue for breakfast. We would definitely return though as we really enjoyed it.

our room was not cleaned on Sunday i enquired about this at 3.30 and was told they were cleaning the rooms for new guests as i had been out since 9.30 i did not want to have to be bothered with a cleaner coming into my room when i was there in the end we got clean towels and that about 7pm that night when we went out for dinner another thing is children running about the hotel i know this is not the hotel fault but it is not very nice when you are trying to get some peace to read after all it is suppose to be a 5star

We were disappointed to learn that your wi-fi was not free. For a 5 star hotel, this should be made available to all guests at no cost. Temperature of hot breakfast was inadequate, but choice was excellent. Evening vegetarian dish (roasted peppers) was bland.

2nd stay last one 14 years ago! Still looks fresh and contemporary. Food was very good standard and king bedroom very well appointed and clean. Will return for sure with extended family. Free bus service into town was a plus. Only problem was lack of parking on Sunday due to avert large wedding! Possibly a residents only parking area on that day would help.

Great luxury Hotel especially for golfers and those who are looking for a special pampering treat. Staff were most attentive and very helpful. Great views from the clubhouse restaurant. Well worthy of its five star rating!

stayed at this hotel recently with my husband for my 50th birthday cannot fault this hotel at all. the bedroom was very clean and spacious, food was excellent. plus service we received was excellent.when we went to the bedroom there was a bowl of handmade chocolates plus a birthday card for me I was really touched vy that.
