I booked dinner bed and breakfast with bottle of wine on arrival. There was no bottle of wine and when reception was asked about this on 2 separate occasions they said it would be delivered to the room. Still waiting on the wine! The room was excellent, food was excellent but the service in the restaurant was organised chaos the 2nd night! Know one knew what the next person was doing. The waiting staff just floated around,know one taking the lead. We got seated at 7.15pm and left the restaurant at 9.15pm! Went to the bar for a drink and was told to sit down and know one came to take our order. We just left without being served. It was a shame as this is a beautiful 4 star hotel with 2 star service!

Just returned home after 2 night break. What can I say? Hotel is outstanding. Rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable and clean. Food was the best I've ever had. Staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing is a bother to them. Had body wrap and face/scalp massage in the wonderfully relaxing spa. Customer service here is 10/10. Keep up the good work guys. Can't wait for our next visit.

The only negative about this visit was having to queue for breakfast on the Wednesday morining. Im not sure if there was a problem as the previous morning we were served the cooked breakfast but on the Wednesday it was a buffet. Waiting did not spoil my stay but it might have if I had to be somewhere for a specific time.

Food good, but earliest sitting offered for dinner of 8.45 first night and 8.15 second, far too late. time to serve meals totally unacceptable. Wednesdays breakfast a total shambles.no apology offered or reason

We really enjoyed our stay at Cardronna, the staff were friendly, the food was excellent, the room was clean and modern but would have appreciated the option to upgrade!! We enjoyed the leisure facilities which were again modern and well maintained. On the down side was the Internet which was only available through the cloud which was at best average and you had to request a seat at the window in advance to enjoy the view at dinner, perhaps a first come first seated would be a better idea?

The hotel is clean and modern and has a fantastic outlook onto the surrounding hills, river Tweed and lovely golf course. However, we were not allowed to sit in the outside tables due to a corporate event. The day we visited was lovely weather and a seat outside would have been very nice. We were also advised that we could not purchase a drink in "Spikes bar" again due to this corporate event. It was not obvious that this event had exclusive access of these areas, embarrasing to be approached to move from outside tables.The areas were also more or less empty with three members of staff standing behind a bar with no customers. Must admit this issue did cause a bit of irratation which spoiled part of my stay. There were also members of the corporate part learing (for want of a better word) at my partner which was not nice and not a good advert for the hotel.

Found the Cardrona Hotel and grounds very peaceful and enjoyed the pool sauna and steam room. On booking in found the man at reception a bit robotic,telling us the usual info but very seldom looked at us as he was rhyming off our room number etc.When we got to our room there was no upgrade, but the room was ok,the bottle of red wine was in our room but no wine glasses?We decided to go down stairs for sandwich and drink, and sit in the sun! Thanks for arranging that Classic Britain (Ha!Ha!)know you'd would if you'd could !??Went back to reception to ask what we were entitled to for our evening meal, same man as before once again told me 3 courses etc but never once stopped what he was previously doing on the computer and gave eye contact,made me feel I was disturbing him.Definitely would like to go back to this hotel but felt some of the staff could have been more hospitable,not the dining room staff they were excellent and the food was delicious.

We did not get the chance to use the spa had planned to use it on the Sunday of our stay unfortunately after the evening meal my wife was extremely ill with vomiting and diarrhoea we could not say for certain the meal caused this but it seems like it .

WE had booked a meal time in the restaurant but when booking in we were told there was no record of the booking which was done over the phone.The only available time for the restaurant was 20:45 hrs and this was far too late for us.We were given a meal allowance for a bar meal which sounded good till we saw the prices, the prawn cocktail was very disappointing at

We had a great time at this hotel. Our room overlooked the golf course and the views were amazing. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. All the staff were really helpful. The food was excellent !!!!! We didn't take our car and the buses from the village.were frequent. We popped into Peebles one day and Melrose the next. I wish we had booked another night because there were lovely walks from the hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel was very friendly and after dinner it was nice to sit in the bar area and have a chat to other guests. Well done.10 out of 10.

I booked this 2 day break for my parents and as my Dad has a mobility issue asked for a bedroom near the lift. Not only did they provide a very accessible room, they also allocated them a table in the dining room near the exit. Great service@

Much impressed with the MacDonald Cardrona, our room was very spacious with lovely views over the golf course to the rolling hills beyond. The leisure facilities were likewise very good with a larger swimming pool than I would normally expect in a hotel. The food and service from staff was also to a very high standard, we very much enjoyed our stay there.
