Fantastic weekend break. Great walks in the grounds. Food excellent although they really do need to learn how to make a good coffee.

Really pleasant stay. Staff all very friendly and helpful and food was lovely. Very nice quite pool and lovely walks in the extensive grounds. I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing few days break

The staff at The Barony Castle were amongst the most friendly, pleasant and helpful we have come across in any hotel we have stayed in. The deal we had was very good value. Booking through Classic Britain was excellent, as always, so straightforward. Only negative was the creaky floorboards, a huge problem as incredibly noisy. This is the reason that I have only given the bedrooms a rating of 6

Food very good. Friendly, helpful staff. Reported broken hairdryer before breakfast and new one was in room when I went up after breakfast.

Very welcoming and warm reception. Overall hotel and grounds are well maintained. Pool and spa area very cllean.

initially did not get upgrade as expecting. Room heating was not working so got moved promptly. Lift has been out of order for a while, this is inconvenient. Room had a dog smell. Food was lovely. Staff very efficient and friendly. Charge for use of credit card is unusual. First time ever in all our travels.

Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. Room was lovely, clean and tidy. Restaurant food and service good. A little wait in the morning whilst more bacon and sausage prepared but otherwise excellent.

Loved this hotel, my husband and I went for a romantic overnight stay with no children and it was lovely. Food was really good and good menu choice. Leisure was nice although swimming pool rather small. We had a lovely room with stunning views, slightly tired furniture and paintwork but it did not affect our stay. Looking forward to going back!

This was a last minute getaway for my husband and I and our teenage sons. Fantastic value for money on a DBB basis with afternoon tea on arrival. The restaurant staff were very attentive and very welcoming. Will certainly be back

My daughter and I had a lovely 2 night stay here,the swimming pool and facilities are needing modernised and updated and the lift in the hotel is not working which isn't good when you have a few bits of luggage to carry up stairs.other than that the Staff were excellent and so was the food.????????

This is the second stay and both times the lift has been broken. We had our baby with us and asked for a pram friendly room this time but they put us on the second floor and as the lift didn't work, we had to carry the pram up and down two flights of stairs which wasn't good at all.

Beautiful hotel surrounded by breathtaking scenery. My husband and I enjoyed a 2 night getaway we had a lovely walk in the countryside, made use of the leisure facilities which were great and ate the fine food on offer. My only let down was that we booked this hotel as it offered pregnancy treatments only to find out that the member of staff that was trained to do them had left. I feel that the hotel need to update the treatment list to reflect that these are no longer available.

The noise of floor boards in room of 201 was terrible, as was the next room. you could hear everyones foot steps. The room itself was fine. Sad to say we had a sleepless night because of this, so i do not think we will back at Barony Castle.

Lovely location, hotel of real character. Cheerful friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Some squeaky bedroom floors, but hotel was 16th century.

We had a brilliant break at thebaronycastle hotel,food was excellent,room was perfect, pool great all over we loved our stay the grounds were lovely,we saw lamas,rabbits,it was idilic settings.staff were lovely and very professional.there was also a pool table if you like that.we loved it that much we would go back again

Our 2 day stay was excellent. Nice local staff extremely helpful and polite. Food was very good. We got privilege upgraded room as part of offer, though it could have been a wee bit bigger. Only downside was that floors creaked and we could hear movement from adjoining rooms. Overall excellent stay and good value for money. Great setting.

Really impressed with the value for money. Made to feel welcome by all staff from the receptionist to the chamber maids. The food was superb and the facilities were good. The hotel was busy but you never felt that it was.

Great Hotel. With nice decor, clean rooms and comfy beds, in beautiful surroundings. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were of a very high standard and dietary needs were catered for. This is our third visit, and we will probably return.

This short break was bought as a xmas present for my brother and his wife. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay but were put in an embarrasing position by a member of the staff on checking out regarding a voucher which she said, in front of other members of the public, they had to produce in order for the barony to be reimbursed by classic Britain. He had to phone me who in turn contacted classic Britain who sorted the matter out.I bought and paid for the break through classic break. Perhaps it would be a good idea for Barony management to advise their staff of the proper procedures to save further embarrassment to guests. I myself have booked several breaks with no problems whatsoever It was easter weekend and what would have happened had I not been at home or classic Britain had been closed?
