Hotel first class... Fairly disappointed with the Classic Britain voucher though - we were given it as a gift but it was near impossible to find an available slot/hotel to use it. It's rather frustrating to find a hotel on your site with availability to be told you can't use a voucher on that date - despite nothing in the exclusions to warn of this. We ended up just using the face value off the cost of the hotel.

Stayed there recently with my husband and dog. Lovely room and view over the golf course. First night dinner was very good but service was very slow. First morning breakfast was very slow. 40 minutes we waited for food and the waiter who eventually took our order lost the order and had to come back and retake it. Breakfast on second day was excellent so I am assuming the previous day was unusual. Overall very good and look forward to going back.

We had a great stay, lovely large bedroom, nice spa area, good gym and pool. The meals were delicious. Amazing value. It was so good we are heading back again in a couple of months.

Everything from check-in to check-out was fabulous. Cannot fault the hotel at all. The staff were extremely courteous and very helpful, delighted with our whole stay. Will definitely come again and will highly recommend the hotel.

Wonderful stay at the Cardrona hotel in Peebles. Golf course beautiful,pool facilities good.Staff excellent,especially dinning room staff,very high standard of service.even accomadated my small dog.Peebles town has a good variety of shops and Go Ape park great for walks and cyclists.Great short break.

Food and service in the restaurant not great. I am vegetarian and twice I was given the wrong order of pork then beef at dinner instead of a vegetable tart. At breakfast I was also served a full meaty plate instead of a vegetarian breakfast I also believe some of the cheese on the buffet cart was off.

Excellent stay,despite minor issue with bar service on the first night,food accommodation and overall service was really good.I would certainly return and would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to others.I'm only giving a nine for the service as the issue with the bar service took the shine off,what was an otherwise perfect stay.

Enjoyed two nights at Cardrona, hotel very clean and staff were always pleasant and helpful. The room was fine, with a wonderful, sunny south facing view: very spacious, with plenty storage. More generous restocking of complimentary items would have been welcomed, however. As the hotel is distant from other businesses, I felt some prices made us feel like 'captives':

The bathroom was not clean. There was an extremely dirty glass covered with toothpaste from the previous guests. The teacups were dirty too. I did not feel comfortable with the standard of hygiene . The service was slow in the restaurant. The toast was cold and said hello to the toaster. Extremely disappointing.

Good value for money rooms were nice but could do with updating ie fringe in rooms would be handy ,cleaners need to change there products as its a wee bit off putting with there bleach cleaning smells in corridors in the mornings and the chef needs to rethink the menu as there's not a lot off pasta choices Mr f from Ayrshire

A beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. Dining staff taking food to the wrong tables (on several occasions) and service slow at breakfast time but food was delicious. Mix up with spa treatment but was given a reduction for inconvenience. No cash facilities on site to allow us to get in to town, which was very disappointing. Maybe something to think about...

We had a thoroughly enjoyable break at the Cardrona Golf Hotel. Our bedroom was spacious, clean and had a lovely outlook over the hills. Our King size bed was extremely comfortable, providing us with a good night's sleep. The room had a table and chairs for sitting at to enjoy the outlook whilst enjoying a drink. Water was provided in a bottle and refreshed daily. There was also an ice bucket and it was no problem for the staff to provide ice whenever it was required. There was a good size shower and a separate bath. Towels were replaced when required and good quality toiletries were provided. The meals were of excellent quality, providing plenty of choice, and the service very slick. Staff were also extremely pleasant no matter where you were in the hotel. Leisure facilities were good, although the pool was a little on the cool side. Golfing was reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel and Classic Britain to my friends. Our choice of break was exceptionally good value and I hope to return there in the future. In fact, my experience at the Cardrona has also inspired me to try other MacDonald hotels.

Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Service in restaurant very slow took 2 hours to have our evening meal. Took 25 minutes before order was taken after been given the menu. Food was excellent though a bit restrictive would have been pushed to find anything to chose if staying 2 nights. Think extra
