The same menu for 3 nights was a bit much. They should have a couple of different specials on each night. Drinks were very over priced.

Not really 4 Star! Our room still had single glazed windows, and the only form of heating was a portable electric heater! Apparently the warm air heating system wasn't working but no explanation was given during check in! The lift was also out of order for the duration of our stay. The spa & leisure facilities were nice, but a lot of the public were looking a little "tired". The service was good but hotel appeared to be somewhat under staffed!

We had a two night stay in this lovely hotel. Room very spacious and tastefully decorated, good size bathroom with a powerful shower. Dining room and lounge areas beautifully presented. Great choice for breakfast. Staff were always very friendly and helpfull. Less than 10 minutes drive to the city centre and hotel has plenty of car parking spaces. If I visit Chester again, this hotel will be my first choice to stay.

Quite a pleasant hotel but understaffed . Twice had to ask reception to find someone to serve us at the bar. Servicing of rooms a bit chaotic with pile of used bedding etc int he corridors. Despite this the staff were very nice & helpful. Employ more staff!!

Definitely not 4 star. More like three. Spa was the only good thing about the hotel. Was rather underwhelmed with it.

Great hotel, friendly staff, lovely pool and gym. Some area of hotel could do with updating but it was very good value for money, nice clean double room and food was very good!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on jan 4th 2013, we were given one of the 'nicer double' rooms for myself, my partner, And 16month old daughter. Our room was clean and sufficient for the price we paid (a winter 2 night deal), the staff were lovely and kindly gave milk free of charge and warmed every time I needed. We ate in the Resteraunt on the first night and although not amazing, the food was cooked well and presented nicely. We used the pool several times. Lovely and warm for children, a great size, and there were toys/flora/and arm bands at the poolside to use. the jacuzzi was hot and the bubbles strong, The best I've been in. All the other spa/gym facilities were well maintained and clean. Breakfast was a hot buffet and a great continental choice including fresh fruits, melons, prunes, and 3 different fruit juices. I'd read some bad reviews of this place before arriving, but it really was value for money. A lovely break away, and I would stay again and reccomend to others.

Not very good. we will not be going again and we have been times.NOT up to Classicbritain standard. Dining 1st night, waited 7pm -8.30 for soup and main course and the 20 mins for sweet (Ice Cream) stilldid not get it so asked the One waiter (Only 1 on duty to take orders, clean away used plates, we were ignored so got up. Complained to reception, told only three staff on duty, manager not there. Spoilt our day. Completely unacceptable. Told we would not be charged but we were and we paid. (fed up). Menu poor and the same for 4 nights so we had a Bar meal. The whole break, for a Birthday was unacceptable. Sorry for a bad report but true...

Picked this hotel in a hurry from the internet via Classic Britain and had a brilliant two nights. Spacious airy room and really good food. As a two for the price of one, this was a brilliant offer.

This hotel appears to be struggling. It is tired and dated. The bathroom door in our bedroom did not close properly and we had to kick it shut. The standard of the food was dreadful. We sent back one of our meals. My fish was sitting on a bed of raw onions and cold potatoes. My husband's steak was undercooked with the blood still running from it. The coach party that was also staying at this hotel were unhappy with the food as well. I will not be returning to this hotel.

Was rather disappointed with this hotel. The room was fine and the food was OK, but the staff didn't seem all that interested. There was no information folder in the room, something you expect in even the smallest hotel. Information therefore had to be obtained from reception, and there it was patchy and/or inaccurate, e.g re bus services from the hotel to the city. There also were no leaflets on display about the places of interest in the city, something else you expect in even the smallest hotels, and, although this is a minor point, there were no complimentary toiletries in the room.I expected more from one of your hotels.

Hotel was more 3 star than 4 star. Staff were good and helpful. Meals also good, however, the bed was really bad. Mattress was done and should have been replaced long before now. I work in a bed store, so know all about them and although we had an enjoyable break we had an extremely uncomfortable sleep

After reading some very bad reviews I went to this hotel with terpidation, but all I can say we were pleasantly surprised, rooms clean and spacious maybe abit over warm, food really nice, staff really helpful and the children loved the pool, we would go back
