We loved our stay at Thainstone. The only criticism we had, was that you had to look for someone to serve you at the bars. This was not laziness but because they had 2 bars and the diningroom to look after. When we went to pay there was a problem with our card which said it was blocked. On return we phoned our bank and they said that a payment had not been requested. This was frustrating for us as others were checking out and we were panicking about how to pay ??

A very enjoyable stay, but slightly disappointed with the dinner menu not being fully explained as to our DBB Package entitlement ..Had to ask if chips were available as our options were not made clear to us by the European waiting staff..

The bedroom was very small, although modern and clean. There was a bit of noise hard from other rooms at various times. Dinner was very good although small portions as the taster menu implies. Sometimes waiting staff weren't very efficient e.g. asked if I wanted 2 poached eggs at breakfast, said yes and they only brought one. Minor gripes. Overall a good stay.

Arrived at Hotel to be informed that there was no booking of our stay in their system, but we weren't to worry as there were plenty of rooms available, no apology was offered. We were shown to the lounge area where we told that they had got rid(exact words used) of the old staff and that the Hotel was more friendly and professional! Room was very nice and comfortable. Dinner was lovely on both nights. Breakfast on the first morning was very slow, had to ask for toast and to order our breakfast, second morning was more organised and efficient. Upon checking out, we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay or had any comments, in fact there was very little conversation. This may seem a very negative review, but we've stayed at Thainstone House Hotel on many occasions in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it, I am sorry to say that we probably won't make a return visit.

The hotel was gorgeous,we came here for a relaxing break without the kids and that's exactly what we had. Unfortunately the spa was in the middle of being renovated so we were unable to book any treatments but we enjoyed use of the swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi. The bars had a great choice of wine, and the food in the Green Lady restaurant was amazing. Would definitely recommend a break here.

I was thouraghly disappointed with our stay which we booked to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. I'd previously called to arrange a cot for our 6 month old son, after checking into our room there wasn't one any took nearly 90 mins and 2 trips to reception to ask! After a 6 hour journey u wanted to get my son settled. We had been advised dining would be easier for us in The Stockman bar, Daniel the bartender was excellent but rushed off his feet as we had been told 3 staff hadn't turned in for work. The menu looked great but was disappointed that the risotto was the only vegetarian option. Ended up just having dessert which came out wrong after quite a long wait. There was no offer of rustling up a meal and so we knew we wouldn't be dining in the hotel on our anniversary the next day. Our last night resulted in me having to call reception around 3:15am due to a couple in the room above us having a domestic for around 40 minutes. The night porter did give them a knock and the noise eventually stopped. I had mentioned our disappointing stay to the receptionist on departure and we kind of received an apology. An email to customer services and the general manager have gone ignored. The hotel itself is stunning and rooms immaculately clean. Pool facilities are great and if you have a walk around the grounds might be lucky enough to spot deer like we did!!

We enjoyed our stay. The bar meals were very good and good value. Breakfast (continental) was fine but a bit overpriced for what it was. Unfortunately we had some late night disturbance from a wedding party that were staying over!

Confused which bar was open and which wasn't, seemed that not enough staff to run both bars, probably because they gave the staff time off for a large charity do the next night.

What a beautiful place. Very picturesque. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was small but very clean and for the time we actually spent in it, it was adequate. We didn't eat in the hotel as we went sight seeing all day but there was plenty to choose from on the menu.

Very good service from hotel staff,we always go to hotels with a pool but classicbritain never informed us that the pool would be closed when we were going to be there (booked in September) hotel staff contacted classicbritain who gave us a mere 19 pounds off a 2 night stay. The hotel is in the middle of a makeover. The food is better in the bar than the restaurant, too fancy and small portions. The pool looked really nice even though it was empty.
