Acarsaid Hotel, Pitlochry

We were given a cheerful welcome at the Acarsaid and the check in was very smooth. Our room was on the 1st floor and although slightly dated was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We were booked for DBB and the food was very tasteful and well cooked. The £20 allowance for dinner did however severely restrict what you could order from the menu and you did have to pay above the allowance to get a 2 course meal, unless you ordered the vegetarian option and included soup. On our 2nd night we ordered starters as well as the Lamb and a steak option and although it took us way above the allowance, was delicious. Staff at the Acarsaid were brilliant and made our stay very enjoyable. This hotel is a good base for exploring the local area and we would certainly return at some time in the future. Had a fantastic stay ate breakfast both mornings which was tasty, had dinner in the steakhouse which was amazing. Bed was massive and rooms clean and tidy. Great staff and can't thank them enough especially after the battery in our car died, they went out their way to help us get on the move again and we where very grateful. Will definitely stay here again!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very pleasant if a little too warm but that was easily remedied by turning down the heating. The bed was very comfortable. The food was excellent and we will definitely return

Everything was pretty much faultless. Breakfast was great, room and bathroom spotless and comfortable. Service was great. Allowed us to keep our car in the carpark after checkout which allowed us to explore more of Pitlochry. All was spot on. Cheers.

The Acarsaid has had a make-over since we last visited a few years ago. Then it was a bit tired looking but what a difference now. It feels much more comfortable, warm and welcoming. It is really convenient for the town and the food is very good. Only one very minor point I would suggest - there is a strong smell of 'Shake and Vac' or some other product when you first walk into the bedrooms which is quite unpleasant - a little less would make a difference.

A warm welcoming place to stay, staff couldnt have been more helpful. Booked in for 1 night as a treat to go to the festival theatre and taxi was booked for us both there and back. Clean comfortable rooms and lounges where guests can sit and admire the views. Lovely breakfast and very convenient to eat in the steakhouse with plenty of choices. Our first visit but hopefully not the last

Hotel nice and clean, staff very helpful and friendly only problem we had was the room above had squeeky floorboards so when the people upstairs were up in the morning so were you, room a good size and breakfast was nice too - wouldn't put me off going again but would request a different room

We stayed at the Acarsaid from the 9th of September to the 11th of September on a one night DBB get one free offer........except this is not really a DBB offer. What you get is £20 pp off of the price of your dinner on both nights so you could end up paying a fair bit for dinner which you may think you have already paid for. Perhaps the hotel could look at having a set dinner menu for anyone on a deal such as this, with the option to pay more for the steakhouse menu, but I don`t know if this would be feasible. This however is the only gripe we had, and it is only a wee one. We had stayed at the Acarsaid previously many years ago, and were very impressed at the changes. Our room was very nice, fresh and well appointed. The lounge areas had all been decorated since our last visit and again were very fresh and clean. Dinner on both nights was a delight, all three courses were very tasty, the braised lamb we both had on the second night was especially good. Breakfast was also excellent, both the cooked options and the buffet selection. The hotel staff were fantastic, very attentive and made guests feel almost as if they were at home, nothing was too much trouble for them. Would we come back to the Acarsaid for another stay......absolutely.

A very enjoyable stay. Although the food at dinner was superb was disappointed that we had to pay more for what we consumed. An allowance of £20 was allowed for dinner but there was no price on the special boards so were unaware that we had gone over the £20 until we were checking out and the extra charge was on the bill

Had a very enjoyable stay at Acarsaid Hotel in Pitlochry. It was our anniversary and we had a gift of a voucher for DBB plus wine. Staff are very friendly, food was delicious, breakfast was lovely. Would definetely recommend. Had a front room so had a really nice view.

Lovely hotel in a good location with excellent service (from Karen especially) in a large room with a comfy bed. Our stay was unfortunately marred somewhat by a disappointing steak purporting to be chateaubriand on the second night. Our replacement meals on sending this back were very good - we reverted to the dishes we both had on the first night of our stay when the chateaubriand was not available - but we were surprised by the prices of the food on the menu in general as almost every dish entailed paying extra for things that we would have expected to be included like potatoes and vegetables. We were especially disappointed as we chose this hotel from among the many options available in Pitlochry because it's Steakhouse restaurant had such a good reputation. In summary, we'd recommend the hotel itself but would think twice about recommending the restaurant based on our experience.

We chose this hotel for our 4 year anniversary and had a lovely relaxing stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Got a great welcome to the hotel. Had a lovely bottle of wine waiting in the room. The food was excellent with a great selection on the menu. The location is perfect for exploring Pitlochry and ample car parking. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely choose it again if I'm staying in Pitlochry.
