Had a lovely time at the Strathaven Hotel we were in a small double which had everything you needed but was a bit on the small side as the name suggests. The hotel was fully booked so we couldn't get an upgrade but it was spotless and the facilities were first class. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was superb. Would not hesitate to stay again the hotel is lovely.

Lovely refurb happening, so far it looks awesome! Had lovely 3 course dinner, breakfast AND afternoon tea! All in all had a lovely overnight stay and look forward to returning with our future baby! ?

Delighted with servicr and room.The only let down was my husbands breakfast.He ordered full scottish and found bacon sausage and potato scone extremely hard and almost impossible to cut.

Stayed for one night dinner bed and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and very helpful, Morgan on reception, Aaron in bar and Fiona in restaurant made our stay enjoyable. Would recommend and certainly return.

Really lovely mini break. Hotel very modern and contemporary, also comfortable and stylish. All staff very helpful and friendly. Food was delicious too - brilliant breakfast menu! Enjoyed our break immensely.

One of the best Breakfasts I have had for years. Freshly cooked to order. My wife had the porridge which was also very nice. Staff friendly and helpful. We did not have a newly refurbished room.

My boyfriend and I stayed last weekend. From calling prior to our stay to book the restaurant, up until our actual check-out, the staff couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. I've been to the hotel previously for a wedding, it was nice then but what a transformation by the current owners! We booked the late DBB deal, amazing value and food was excellent. The bar is lovely area to sit in after dinner and the barman made me a tail not on their list and got it pretty bang on! Breakfast Gets the thumbs up too, it was table service, not buffet style, and had good choice (my only slight criticism is one of my eggs florentine was perfect but the other was overcooked). I only scored the room 7 as I was in an older unrefurbed one which was perfectly clean and had all you need but they are dated. I saw a refurbished on way out as housekeeping were working and they look fab. Had such a nice time, I've rebooked for a girly catch up when my friend comes up in a few wks ?

Fabulous short break, hotel staff were genuinely very caring and helpful. Food was amazing. Hotel has recently been refurbished. Half of our party was in a refurbished room the other half was not however these rooms were still very fresh clean and in good order. Breakfast was great served by the lovely Jessie, who made sure you had everything you wanted at breakfast. We will definitely be back to this wee gem.

The friendliness of the whole staff, from the owner to night porter, could not do enough to help. Food was excellent. The hotel was being refurbished during our visit and the areas completed were very good.

My wife and I stayed overnight on 17th August on a DBB deal and we had a very pleasant stay. All of the staff, particularly in the restaurant, were very friendly and helpful. The food, both dinner and breakfast, was of a very high quality and beautifully presented. We had a glass of the house white wine (a South African Chenin Blanc) which was one of the best house wines we have ever had! The restaurant and bar area has clearly undergone a recent refurbishment and has been completed to a high standard, modern but still welcoming. Our bedroom, located in the older part of the hotel, was very comfortable and had everything that we wanted. In summary, I would thoroughly recommend the Strathaven Hotel and look forward to going back some time in the future.

I stayed here on business and was really impressed with the renovations and refurbishment that is ongoing. The team are warm and welcoming, the bedrooms comfortable and cosy, and the bar and dining areas are contemporary with a designer feel. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and excellent value for money. Under the new ownership this hotel is going to go from strength to strength. I am looking forward to my next visit.

We booked this as a short birthday breakaway having heard that it was a new venture in the very capable ownership of Hans Rissmann who has an impressive track record in hospitality in Scotland. The hotel is undergoing a major revamp and upgrade but what's been done already is very impressive. The newly-opened bar and restaurant is wonderful, enhanced by superior service and a superb menu. Dinner was splendid and matched only by a lovely breakfast the following day. Work is ongoing to bring the bedrooms up to the same standard and we look forward to returning in the very near future.
