Murrayshall House Hotel, Scone

Room was a little small, but ours was a late booking so no complaints. Only other thing was that it was uncomfortably hot even when radiator was switched off. We understand that a new heating system has been installed - very efficient! Both these are observations only and would not dissuade us from returning.

Had a lovely golf break with friends staying at Murrayshall. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful in particular John in the main restaurant who provided a first class service with a friendly smile and we enjoyed a lovely meal.

A lovely hotel in need of a little TLC as it is a bit dated. The food was excellent although the choice on the menu was very small. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and could not do enough for us. The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. However as with many hotels when having a shower the water tended to go outside the bath as the shower head was quite high. We played golf on the morning of our first day. the course was lovely despite being a bit hilly. As it was February it wasalso rather wet in places. We would lie to try it again in summer when the ground is dry.

My husband and I stayed at Murrayshall on Sunday night - DBB. The whole "experience" was excellent. We were warmly greeted on arrival, were given a beautiful room, had a superb 3 course dinner with coffee, and found the service in the tail bar and restaurant to be first-rate. We hope to visit the hotel again in the not too distant future and will be recommending Murrayshall to both family and friends.

I really can't fault this hotel in any way. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, the rooms and standard of facil in the rest of the hotel were outstanding. The food was to die for and serve with efficiency and genuine desire to look after guests. To top it all the location was stunning with fantastic views all round, absolutely superb!

Bedrooms need updated. Food in restaurant not that special. Some members of staff were very pompous. First time I have ever checked out of a hotel and not been asked if I enjoyed my stay.

Quite hard to find out in the countryside near Scone but once inside the beautiful grounds surrounded by a golf course and beautiful gardens it was well worth the search. Our room was reached by climbing a grand staircase. The room itself was very large with a comfortable bed and large bathroom with expensive toiletries. Everything was immaculately clean and well presented. A bonus for us was a bar at the rear of the hotel used by the golfers where we could buy inexpensive bar meals. After a good nights sleep an excellent, varied breakfast awaited us before continuing our journey. A luxury hotel experience at budget hotel prices.

Our stay was very good apart from 2 incidents which the hotel itself would need to address. After checking we booked for dinner in Stutts Bar as we were informed that the dining room was full. We then went into the guest lounge for refreshment and the bar staff member (male) told my husband we couldn't have refreshments there although several people were already having them!! He directed us to Stutts Bar. We found out that the guest lounge was a 24 hr bar so why were we not served? In the evening when we had dinner we all ordered steaks. The waitress returned to inform us there was none! She was very apologetic but it wasn't her fault. It beggars belief that a 4 star hotel can't accommodate guests with what's on their menu. The two ladies serving in Stutts Bar were a delight so they were in no way responsible for the availability of food on the menu. We had an enjoyable breakfast and lovely staff again. Our service score would have been 10 if it hadn't been for the bar man.

No upgrade was given even when it was clear there were only roughly 10 rooms staying in the hotel.I did mention it at checkout and an apology was given. Out of 40 rooms i'm sure there would have been a superior room available but obviously did not want to give them out.

Enjoyed a very relaxing two days. When my wife took ill just as we started dinner on the second night, the staff could not have been more attentive and contacted both NHS 24 and the Ambulance Service on my behalf. They also arranged transport for myself to get to the hospital. As my wife was kept in hospital overnight, I was informed by the hotel staff that there was no rush for me to vacate our room.

We had a fantastic stay. Booked last minute. Every member of staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Had lunch in the club house which was lovely and great value for money and evening meal in the restaurant. The meal was absolutely fantastic. The best rib eye steak I have ever had. Our room was lovely and very comfortable and the Elemis products were a delightful treat. We will be returning in the near future and have recommended the hotel to friends and family.

Very relaxing 3 nights. Staff were excellent and everyone was very friendly and helped to make the visit so enjoyable. Supreme room got upgraded to Junior Suite - ask for room 42 if you can. The only (slight) criticism I can make is that the table d'hote menu was the same each night - two choices for each course
