The Old Loans Inn was a lovely hotel. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and as we were early, we were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready. It was spacious, clean and modern. We booked dinner in the restaurant and what a feast! The food was delicious. The turkey broth was absolutely amazing. My partner said it was the best soup he had ever tasted. The staff were all attentive and just lovely. Breakfast was lovely too. Overall, this was a fabulous stay and we will definitely be back.

We arrived around 3.30pm, lots of parking and you enter via the back of the building which i don't think is very clear upon entering the car park. We only knew because we saw people leaving and asked them. We were welcomed by a male and he gave us a key for the room 214. When we entered the room it was a double bed, had tv, desk, coffee making facilities and a shower. Price of £169 includes 3 course meal, dinner bed and breakfast plus bottle of Prosecco. Really good deal. Meal the staff in restaurant were very nice and very friendly. We were served by an older lady with glasses and light blonde hair, she could not have been nicer, nothing too much trouble. I had prawn tail which was delicious, husband had haggis pakora which he said was lovely. His main dish was fish and xhips, he enjoyed the fish but the chips were a little undercooked. I had chicken balmoral with mash and vegetables and peppercorn sauce which was really thick. I do think it should have came with a bit more as it was quite dry although i still enjoyed it. We were served by an older lady with glasses and light blonde hair, she could not have been nicer, nothing too much trouble. For starters i had prawn tail which was delicious, husband had haggis pakora which he said was lovely. His main fish and chips, fish was good but chips were a little undercooked, this came with less and a side salad. I had chicken balmoral which was nice too but not enough peppercorn sauce and it was quite thick so didn't go a long way. The vegetables were very hard. Could have been softer. Husband had dessert sticky toffee pudding which he said was really nice and i had the cheese cake which was mango flavour. We had a few drinks in the bar, i had a french martini which was £9.95 and 2 wines which were £13.95. Good choice of breakfast, it was nice. No square sausage so husband was a little disappointed. Again staff friendly at breakfast. Although we did enjoy it i don't think we would rush back.

Great night at this lovely hotel. Staff were all very friendly, food was delicious (3 courses) the portion sizes were pretty big and piping hot. Good amount to choose from too. The room was lovely, very clean and we had a good night’s sleep. We also used the thermal suite at the Gailes hotel, this was lovely too and only a few miles drive away. We will definitely return for another visit. Thank you.

Fantastic hotel. Friendly staff from start to finish. Food was delicious. Great selection for breakfast and the seasonal menu that was part of our deal was very good. Only wee issue we had was you only got one room card, which was a little annoying at times. After speaking with staff as we left all we had to do was ask for another and they would have happily provided. We will know for next time. Great location we just got taxis to take us into town was only about £7.50 each way. Overall an excellent stay and excellent value for money. We will certainly be back.

Hothouse setting everything was perfect. Our room was huge and immaculate, plenty of for a bath/shower. Their was everything you needed in your room even a fan ? The staff we met were all very welcoming and helpful. We only had breakfast but the continental breakfast was lovely and there were several cooked options too all well presented and delicious.

We did not get to Old Loans, we were moved to Gailes at the last minute due to Old Loans being overbooked. We agreed to the move with the compensation of a spa package being in our room and the use of the spa. We were then told the very next day that the spa was out of use due to refurbishment. So no real compensation. I asked what the perks of the move were going to be now and am yet to receive a response. As a regular customer of myhotelbreak, for myself and for friends & family, I am very disappointed in the service.

The staff were all excellent and very helpful. Food and Bar excellent. The only issue for us was the heat in the rooms was just like being in spain. Other than that a good quality stay in nice surroundings. We enjoyed the outside bar area as the weather was good.

Fantastic 2 night stay. The staff are amazing very fiendly and helpful. Food is very good we chose to eat in both evenings and we're delighted with the food. The room we had was on the road side of the hotel and we had no trouble with road noise. It's just a short drive to Troon itself. I would definitely stay here again and for any golfer's this is an ideal base very central to at least 10 courses.

This turned out to be a very nice hotel. We booked it thinking it was actually in Troon, but no matter. The whole place was modern, clean and well run. The staff were very friendly and efficient, keen to help. We ate in both nights and the food was really good. Breakfast was a quiet event, with tasty food. No complaints at all really. There is mention in some of the reviews of rooms being too hot, well we had an electric heater/air conditioner in our room which worked very well, not too noisy at all. Evidence I feel of the hotel taking heed of their reviews.
