Nice clean hotel rooms lovely nice staff. Bad points are that the rooms are really warm and only one small window opens which does not cool the room down at all. There is a fan system that does not work. Staff on reception gave me a electrical fan but was still not enough to cool the room down. Hardly had any sleep due to this. Also I booked to pay on arrival There was no mention that payment had to be made by card unless got photographic id which neither of us had so had to pay by card which we was not happy with as we got cash ready.

Very disappointing Room key did not work at first, prosecco was not in room, room had not been hoovered (had to pick up previous tenants snacks) Room small and carpet badly stained. Breakfast hot items all cold

Hotel was very nice but small. Never got a free bottle of fizz or a free upgrade as stated but regardless of that I would definitely stay again. Breakfast was nice but was slightly in the cold side.

Good place to stay. Convenient, as it is in the city centre. Good rooms, good staff. Enjoyed our visit here and would definitely stay again .

We stayed here for a short business trip. The location is nice, the hotel modern and clean. Great staff with friendly attitude! Surprise: While waiting for the check in, we were trested wirh a nice glass of white wine!

We stayed at the Sandman as part of our 30th Wedding Anniversary celebrations which coincided with us going to a concert in the city centre. This is a lovely hotel that is ideally located for Newcastle city centre. The staff are excellent and the rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you would need. We ate in the Shark Bar which is part of the hotel. The food was excellent and the staff were brilliant. On the Sunday evening my wife fancied a tail which I ordered and paid for. I returned to the table and about 5 minutes later the bar manager came over with money for me as the barman who served me had forgot that it was half price on tails. This was very good of him so my wife had two more My wife has stayed here before when working in Newcastle and loved the hotel and friends of ours had stayed recently and loved it. We will definitely be back as Newcastle is a great city with so much going on. Also ideally located for football lovers as the photograph is the view from our bedroom window.

We were friends of three spending a weekend at Newcastle and stayed at this hotel. Lovely room, great meals and a really service minded staff. With St. James Park just across the street, we’ve found our place to be for our next visit to Newcastle. Loosing top score cuz the WiFi was really bad, if it even worked.
