Room was dated , carpet on stairs needed hoovered. Bar furniture needs updated Location was good, staff friendly and helpful Parking should be free

We had a wonderful couple of days,the hotel has so much character,we asked the waiter all about the history,had a lovely walk around inside and outside,our room was lovely with a great walk in shower which I did ask for,the breakfast was delicious, could have as much or as little as you liked,no too far out of York,and on a great bus route

Breakfast slightly chaotic.Different service on both breakfast.No food in evenings only Barsnacks.Bathroom ..no ventilation!! Difficult when showering.

Lovely hotel with many original features. Staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good with plenty choice. Only a short distance 10mins on bus from centre of York. Busses are frequent every 15mins and on the route for the Designer outlet.

Excellent hotel with great staff. Good to see that the hotel had 4 EV chargers available to anyone who needed them. Wouldn’t hesitate to book here again, fabulous!

Lovely hotel and staff perfect location for york city bus stops right outside and runs frequently and takes about 10 minutes,if you fancy walking there is a walk along the river into town- a couple of pubs serving food within a few minutes walking distance great location and we will definitely return

Very nice hotel on outskirts of York. Great location with frequent buses to the city stopping almost outside the door. Parking available at hotel for a fee or free on street parking nearby. Only breakfast served at hotel, no other meals. Bar available for drinks & snacks.Breakfast was buffet style. Good selection very tasty & frequently restocked. Coffee not great but that’s the only fault. Had an evening meal at plough in nearby which was very good (good idea to book as very busy). Staf very helpful. Hotel a bit rambling with rooms all over but apart from a bit of a walk room was clean and tidy. A little tired but everything we needed. Overlooked small central courtyard. All in all very happy with stay & would certainly stay again. Even better with great deal from My hotel break, which saved some cash on booking direct

The room was clean and comfortable just a little stuffy even eith the window open overnight. Unfortunately even though coconut milk was on the menu it was unavailable they only had almond milk for lactose intolerant customers

This is a wonderful hotel, full of character. So much better than your typical chain hotel, nice little gardens and courtyard. The service is great, and the breakfast is wonderful. Ricardo looked after us and nothing was too much trouble for him. My wife is gluten free and there were options for her. My only gripe would be the rooms. We had room 61, a small outside room in the courtyard. It was adequate, but the first thing I noticed was a great deal of mould coming out from the skirting board behind the toilet, then noticed a large hanging cobweb/ dust web hanging from the cowling over the bed. In addition you could hear everything from adjoining room including ablutions! May have been the wrong room, but overall I would go back.

Haven't stayed here for a few years, but it was definitely worth staying again. Room was small but fine, little bit noisy in the morning i think due to kitchen extractors being switched on for breakfast, breakfast was excellent on both days & all staff we met were attentive and will definitely stay again soon

The Hotel room and Lobby Going to room was full of Moscitoes, both me and my Daughter got bit all over. Court Yard back door Malfunctioned and we got locked out of room, Duty Manager and Lad from Reception has to brake the Safety Chain to get us in. No Key for back door. Room was Full of Splattered Moscitoes and Shower Curtain. On the Saturday tgey Sprayed Fly Killer in our room. I could not enter for a while as I have COPD and Asthma. Asked to move rooms but they was full that night. Manager both Nights knew about this but never once did tgey give us feedback and ask us i OK on the Sundsy. My Daughter who stayed with me has sent email to Managers also.

Staff was lovely , breakfast very good both days , room wasn't so nice carpet dirty all over Black marks on too and room very dated , toilet brush was covered in toilet roll and in bottle of container was dirty urine water , it was made nice by the lovely card and chocolates left for our anniversary, wasn't as lovely as last few stays we had here

Our first visit to this hotel and we were greeted by very pleasant staff, some friends came to pick us up and we met them in the bar the bar staff were very friendly. The breakfast was very good lots to choose from again the staff were very professional. The only thing I would have a gripe about are the decor and soft furnishings in the bedroom they were very tired and needed brightening up the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean but tired we would definitely stay again and the bonus was a bus stop outside the hotel

Noisy traffic kept us awake all night. Shower was just a trickle. WiFi was rubbish. Room warm and stuffy. Breakfast was plentiful. Good location for buses in to York. Disgusting that hotel charged guests for parking in their OWN car park. Drinks prices extortionate. Won't be returning or recommending

On the face of things seemed like a good deal but our room faced onto a busy/noisy main road. The hotel had no lift and and our room was accessed via several sets of up and down torturous stairs. Any person with walking difficulties should avoid this place. In the bathroom the shower cubicle was small and uncomfortable and it was difficult to get a decent shower. The toilet was of the compactor type with whiff of sewage. The cooked friendly staff breakfast was not great worst ever sausages ! One of the worst hotel experiences in room 16 .friendly staff

I cannot praise this establishment highly enough. The staff are without exception exception excellent, friendly,polite and efficient. The room was very comfortable and cleanThe breakfast was also great with high quality people locally sourced ingredients. We liked it so much that we have booked to go again in September
