Stayed in this hotel a few times for overnight breaks just to unwind,rooms are always spotless ,the food is very good and the service from the staff is excellent.

had a lovely weekend at the riverside. our rooms were spacious and the beds , of which we had 2 doubles, were so comfy. we had a shower over bath and I don't like the shower curtains but thats personal choice. the food was lovely. especially the breakfast. lots of continental and hot buffet style food. would stay here again

We stayed on a dbb basis, I honestly could not fault the food at dinner it was delicious my husband had salmon and I had steak pie, Since being home he wants to book again for the salmon ? breakfast was buffet style, plenty available and constantly being refilled throughout service. Staff could not have been any better pleasant prompt and professional. Room was upstairs which I understand is awaiting a refurb however our room was comfy and spotless, only thing I would mention was there was no plugs bedside for charging phone. Bathroom was again spotless but old fashioned tiles, chipped bath and sink, but lovely soft towels and nice toiletries available. We are already planning our next stay

Hotel reception and eating area is stunning, room looked half freshly decorated and half tatty. En-suite had a funny smell to it and had a shower curtain rather than a more hygienic shower screen which we found odd. Plenty parking. Most of the food was beautiful highly recommend the fish and chips as well as the biscoff cheesecake. The steak pie was quite bland. Booking for dinner really needs to be done before you arrive as we had to go at 6pm (which is a bit early for us) due to it being fully booked until 8.15pm both nights. I wouldn’t say the hotel was that busy either. Thought the bar was quite expensive at £12 odd for a vodka and e and a pint. We ended up venturing into the town and having a few drinks in a local bar rather than pay hotel prices. All in all after reading the reviews and wanting to visit for ages we didn’t think it deserves the 4 star and were a bit disappointed,

Dog friendly rooms are too far away from main reception with no access to outside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very nice and clean. Food was excellent quality.

Loved my stay .. but unfortunately for me we won’t be back . If we had known they had the sticky shower curtains that went out many years ago we would’ve of went .. but all in all great

Good stay, excellent value for money and great food. Only downside was lack of staff, both at dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was very busy and queues remind me of Butlins. Really need to rethink setup.

Hotel was very clean, well presented and in a good location. Rooms where modern and very spacious. The food both at dinner and breakfast was delicious. We will certainly be back again.

Lovely stay - great value. Rooms a little dated furniture-wise but public areas nice. Staff helpful and friendly. Food in restaurant fabulous. Great deal.

We had a lovely break at the Riverside, very relaxing. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. We had a ground floor room which was lovely. Only drawback was our window was about 20ft from the path along the river so we were not comfortable undressing without drawing the curtains. A blind or voile option would have helped. Dinner was beautiful and good sized portions. Drinks, a pint, 25ml vodka and bottle of e was around £11.50. All the Staff were very friendly. The dining room staff seemed a bit slow but I think they were probably just giving you time to enjoy your meal without hassling you. Breakfast was buffet and had a super selection. The staff were a bit lax at topping up the milk, water and pastries at breakfast but were quick to help when you asked. There is a bus, number 11, which takes you into town but it is also a nice walk straight down into town. Maritime Museum was worth a visit. We would definitely recommend and will return hopefully soon.

another great stay at the Riverside Inn with my group of friends. It is such a relaxing hotel and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable on the groynd fliir ss requested. The foid was amazing and the chef provided an alternative veggie option.

Lovely hotel, food and service good. Issue with the low score on the room was the fact that the bathroom/toilet was not up to standard of a 4star hotel. Very grubby and lot a mould in the toilet/washhand basin and shower.
