Friendly and efficient staff in a pleasant & quiet location. Good value but need to restore the lift facility or have more help with luggage to & from rooms.

The food rating would have been better if the buffet style breakfast had been replenished more regularly. Dinner was very good.

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Hotel room and bathroom comfortable and clean (would have appreciated a bottle of water and better tea selection in the room but that's quibbling!). Was great to arrive to a cream tea, have time to relax and swim then enjoy a pleasant evening meal. Good that there's a proper bar too, for relaxing and chatting. Good breakfast. Pleasant grounds, nice location for exploring. Helpful staff, non-intrusive. We felt refreshed by the end of the visit. Possibly a strange issue to mention, but the hotel and laundry didn't have a noticeable smell (sometimes the stuff used for hotel laundry smells very strong and not very nice), which was a very good thing! Just clean - v nice.

Had a really nice time at Barony Castle, only downfall was our check-in was supposed to be 2pm however rooms weren't ready till 4:15pm, this would have been ok if we were staying a few nights but it was only for 1. They did give us a voucher for a tea & coffee, I also had to ask for our cream tea voucher later which was included in the price.

Staff excellent, very friendly and helpful. Spa treatments were great but facilities at pool etc let it down. Bedroom was small, bathroom in terrible state of repair. Cracks in floor, severely water damaged, floor had sunken down.

Reception, lounge area and dining room are all modern,tidy and very welcoming. Staff are polite, helpful and very pleasant. Food is excellent and service is prompt. Our only disappointment was with the bedrooms and especially the bathrooms. Bedrooms are clean but tired and bathrooms in need of upgrading. Small issues such as chipped baths, extractor fans not working, light fittings loose and not working and cheap toilet seats being addressed would greatly improve the experience of a stay at Barony Castle Hotel. Good value stay with offer from Classic Britain.

This is the second time we have stayed at Barony this year. It is excellent value for money, very nice hotel. Our only issue this visit was we went for my mothers birthday celebration to relax. It was a Sunday we had 2 rooms, problem was the room through the wall from one of our rooms and across corridor from the other was having work done in it. Banging etc was going on from we got our keys until at 6.20pm I decided enough was enough and called reception. Staff member wasn't apologetic but said he would speak to the workers. This he must have done as they left the room a short time later. When we went down stairs for our dinner booking we decided to go to reception to raise our complaint which again didn't seem to raise any apology. We were told manager was in restaurant. We did state we realise work has to be carried out but guest should be considered. he said he had only worked there for 3 weeks. He said he would deduct our round of drinks of the bill which amounted to just over

Only complaint was our bedroom didn't have any curtains to close and there was a lamp post which shone directly into our room although there was a blind it didn't prevent the light from shining in

Only one night but really enjoyed the stay. Staff were very helpful and the evening meal was excellent I would certainly stay there again.

We as a family with a 3 year old where extremely impressed with the facilities at the barony castle. My little boy had a great time in the pool and my husband used the gum facilities. My only disappointment was that my maternity massage was cancelled the day before we arrived due to staffing issues . We will Definately try and visit the barony again.

The rooms are a bit tired and could do with being re-painted walls, doors etc however the reception area, restaurant are excellent. The food was excellent and the staff are v helpful

The setting and stay was very good, the room which was on the third floor was a bit tired but very clean and all the staff were really outstanding. So to sum up the Barony Castle comes highly recommended.

Staff friendly. Dining experiences good. Did not use facilities so can't comment. Bedroom (213) and bathroom clean but unable to open window for fresh air and also damp patches around base of outside wall which completely put us off. The window blind also had dampness marks on it. Sorry but won't be back.
