Hotel is actually 3 miles from Peebles, so a car is needed if you wish to visit Peebles. Drinks are very expensive but food was very nice and the staff were excellent.

Not the best room available as this particular one had not been refurbished and overlooked the main road though to be fair great views and beds were amazing. Meals were superb and staff excellent. There was an issue with treatments and as my online pre booking had been timed out and even having called to discuss the problem I had no appointment. I did get a treatment but not at 50% discount. If you want a treatment phone direct and book beforehand. Would certainly recommend the hotel and will return for another break.

The Macdonald Cardrona Hotel is beautiful and spotless. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and informative. Loved the fact I could take my little dog. Would definitely recommend this Hotel and we will certainly be back.

having stayed at this hotel six times I would recommend it as a very pleasant destination to stay and also play golf there are a few areas which are letting the hotel experience down a little the hot buffet breakfast is not even warm and is made worse by having to use cold plates which is wrong and a silly practise the service in general is very good however a couple of the staff require retraining especially taking your food orders the evening meals are very good but portions very small and you must book a table very early the rooms are excellent as is the maid servicing of the rooms the rooms are very clean and fresh with good facilities good gymnasium and pool and special treatments are good the golf range looks impressive however it has never been open onant of my six visits ? why ? I have had to mark down the food as the breakfasts were not hot and cold plates other wise food was very good I had to mark down the service a bit as one staff member got my order wrong and part of my order never arrived apart from the food portions being small I found the bar and coffee prices a bit high I will continue to visit and use this hotel I just hope they sort out the breakfast I do enjoy my visits and I would recommend the hotel overall my comments are correct fair and reasonable I use classic britain a fair bit and find them excellent to use most of the staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful this hotel is a good base to use if you are visiting the area for whatever reason parking is good also get the golf range opened ! the course is very good as usual

We were very pleased with the room - spacious and a lovely view over the golf course. The bed was extremely comfortable. Dinner was excellent, food of a very high quality and the service was quick. Breakfast was also fantastic. Will definitely return again!

We were a family group and in general we had a good visit, nice staff and accomodation and we made much use of the pool which was greatly enjoyed. A couple of areas which did slightly disappoint us related to a) the dinner menu which over three nights that my wife and I were there changed very little. The dinners were good, but a variation on the menu would have been welcomed. I would add that the dining room staff were very accomodating to us when some members of the group were delayed by getting family to sleep. b) We had coffee on the first night which was pretty ordinary to say the least and at, I think,
