This was our second stay but we were disappointed by a few things bedrooms were not ready until 4.30 in the afternoon we were given a free soft drink for the inconvenience.our daughters toilet in her room was broken but she was upgraded.our room was not cleaned on our second day it was 5.20 in the evening before staff called but by that time we were getting ready for our dinner.i don't think we will be back.

Very comfortable room. Nice and warm, too. Food was fabulous and beautifully presented. Loads of fruit at breakfast together with something for everyone.

We had on the whole a lovely stay at Barony Castle. It is a great location for an active break. The rooms have recently been refurbished. I have to say the service at breakfast was not great. I expected the place to busy between 9 and 10am but the alot of the staff seemed ill prepared to deal with this. One morning a member of staff instructed us to go to a room where a table would be free - there was no free table and she seemed ill equiped to deal with this from a customer service perspective. Another time we were directed to a table then asked to move as the table had previously been allocated to someone else. We ordered room service, but our order did not arrive, one telephoning reception, no one seemed aware of our of order. We ended up going to the restaurant at 9.50 and were only able to access the dregs of the breakfast items - indeed the fresh fruit. cheese and yoghurts had already been taken away. It would have been nice if the dinner menu had changed each evening - we had a 3 for 2 deal and were quite happy to dine elsewhere on the third night. If the menu had changed we would have been more tempted to stay. I have been negative - we did enjoy our stay - but I do feel a little more effort about the details would be more fitting of this hotel chain

Hotel was generally good. Room well presented apart from a broken and tatty blind on the window. Swimming pool was clean and well presented. Some of the corridors and doors had slightly tattered/scratched paintwork with some of the carpets looking a little sad. Service slow and a bit sloppy at times from some of the staff members in the restaurant but food was very good.

Slightly disappointed by service in the dining room on the first night(had to wait 25 minutes on our starters),and there was dust on the table legs in the bedroom.Also,the towels weren't renewed the next day,despite having been left on the bathroom floor/Please don't think that this spoilt our stay at the Barony,as everything else was exemplary/Superbly spacious room,tremendous food+wines and although we didn't make use of the leisure facilities we will the next time,as we fully intend on a return visit.I've already recommended the Barony to several friends since my return.

It was a nice Hotel, staff very helpful. Major disappointment was the food. This included repeat of same menu on two consectutive nights - told it was their "Seasonal Menu". Was told "no" when I asked for something off the bar menu instead of the repeated evening menu. First time I knew that a Scottish Breakfast included garlic mushrooms and herbs over other breakfast items and cumberland sausages!! Not what was expected to be served. Ran out of orange juice at breakfast time - "used it all inthe bar lawst night". Bar drinks arrived wrongly, then when one was changed it came back a totally different drink! I would try other Classic Britain Hotel but feel this was not worth the money.Disappointed with food.

Our 3rd stay at Barony Castle. Lovely hotel, set in beautiful grounds, food great and staff helpful. Rooms a little small, but clean and comfortable. Used facilities, good size pool, loved the heated loungers, shame Sauna was out of action! Had a lovely break would stay again.

We have been to the Barony previously hence why we returned, unfortunately our room was positioned close the kitchens extractor fan which was rather noisy. Room was clean but rather miss matched re furnishing.

The food at barony castle was amazing. Both dinner and breakfast were great. The service was ok, nothing spectacular. Unfortunately the room was in need of decorating but was clean enough. The worst part was at 7am in the morning the heating kicked in and caused major rattling in the pipes which left us unable to sleep. When I told reception about this they were not really interested. Shame, as it ruined the bonus of a late checkout and we were out by 9am.

Enjoyed the Barony Castle stay. The staff and the food was very good. Our room was adequate for an overnight stay but our sleep was disrurbed a couple of times by a noisy wedding party staying in the near bye suites argueing but these things happen.Would go back againas it is a nice hotel and the walks and grounds are lovely.

I paid for room upgrades but was unsure if the rooms we were given were upgraded rooms. I did ask the receptionist but received a shrug of the shoulders as a reply !

Staff could've been a bit cheerier! It took too long to served at the bar, and the barman kept pouring pints into wet glasses which causes the pint to go flat straight away!

The whole stay was superb: staff, food, location. A real shame however that the bath towels provided were no more than slightly large hand towels. A real shame.

Parts of the hotel are a bit tired though still clean. Evening meal was lovely but the quality of some of the breakfast items was not as expected. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back.

We had booked a superior room but the one we were shown to on the third floor was very dark with a small dormer window. When we complained we were shown to a much roomier, lighter one on the ground floor. Bed very comfortable. Food pretty good. The overall impression was a hotel that needs some money spent on maintenance as some areas look very sad. Service only fair. Most likely we will not visit again.

A real joy to stay at Barony castle! The food was superb and the staff friendly and helpful. Room ample size.Disabled needs catered for with grab rails in bathroom with walk in shower. Would recommend this hotel in its beautiful surroundings. A family friendly place & children welcome!
