Enjoyable 2 night stay. Hotel warm and welcoming and staff extremely friendly. Compliments must go to the chef and his team for excellent food. For a small supplement you can upgrade to full A La Carte menu with lots of choices. Anyone needing a stopover after a long journey north or south look no further than this lovely hotel.

The hotel was excellent and the staff friendly. The meals were more than we could eat and the chef was very accommodating with our friend who was coeliac and needed a special diet. The rooms were lovely and clean we would defiantly go back thanks to all.

Very nice Hotel, should really be a 4*.Very clean, room 8 was very spacious as was the on suite bathroom, Jacuzzi bath was brilliant.It had a king size 4 poster bed, very comfortable.Was not too impressed with the outlet shops but the Sunday market just across the road was very good, bought some nice home baking there.I would also recommend a trip to Powfoot on the coast, nice sea front area to sit, relax and admire the views.The Golf Club there have very reasonable prices if you fancy a drink.

Everything at hotel was fabulous except the length of time we had to wait between courses.Callum the waiter was having to serve in the restaurant and also look after the bar.He was very considerate and helpful but it was not his fault the delay between courses.We spoke to the recepionist on booking out and she could not have been more apologetic.She is in a class of her own. Otherwise an excelent hotel and we enjoyed our break.The staff in the hotel were so very friendly and could not do enough for you.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Special deal meant we had a basic room on ground floor which was fine but small and because windows only opened a few inches, in the very warm weather room was extremely hot. Staff friendly, good food. Would return.

Hotel, lovely, bright and clean. Room large and comfortable. Staff all very welcoming. Had lunch, not that appetizing, bread a bit dry around edges!! Dinner, starter was ok, main course glorified chicken pie, looked good, tasted good to begin with then saw the rest of the chicken, not white breast, dark meat so that put me off, husband had gammon and it was very hard to chew, not difficult to cook!! Breakfast was edible, although could have been much hotter, especially as there were only a few other guests to cater for.....all in all good value for what we paid, would we go back, probably not, mainly due to the food!!

Enjoyed our stay at the Gables Hotel.Staff were friendly,atmosphere relaxed. Our room was comfortable and well furnished. Had fantastic break at the Gables Hotel Gretna. Staff were so friendly and attentive. Loved the four poster bedroom with whirlpool bath, will definitely return again.
