Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Golf & Spa, Peebles

Despite living 180 miles away we really like this hotel and have recommended it to friends and family: food, facilities, staff, location all excellent. However our most recent stay was somewhat spoiled by the glacially slow service for the evening meal, in 60 minutes we had a bowl of soup... Not acceptable when the restaurant was less than half full, one family even had to resort to playing cards! I would suggest you allow guests the option to select their food choices earlier in the day so that their food can be served more promptly, sitting for 2 hours can be rather uncomfortable with a dodgy back. Breakfast is brilliant by the way!

Room was excellent service was very poor seemed to be a lack of organisation and staff booked diner for 9pm and had to wait 35mins to be seated really disappointing for a hotel ive visited on a number of occasions

We had a fantastic stay at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel. The hotel was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was spacious and the bed very comfy! I felt some of the decor was a bit dated and tired looking but the hotel is currently undergoing major refurb in bedrooms. The food was delicious and restaurant staff very good. I enjoyed a fantastic facial at the spa and the pool is a good size. The hotel is in a great location, golf course on site and close to Peebles town centre.

hotel appeared very good up to Friday.lounge dining area people in gowns and slippers etc at 2pm.not able to book dinner.Bad management this is a pity great hotel.disappointed.

Hotel , spotless and food first class but found it to be rather pricey for drinks and supplements on menu at evening meal . Also no tea or coffee included in evening meal which we found to be unusual .

We stayed on the Sunday Night Offer. This was excellent value for money, with good food, comfortable room, good leisure facilities, great surroundings and last and certainly not least the very friendly helpful staff. This was our second stay using special offers and we will certainly consider another stay should these deals continue to be available.
