we very much enjoyed our stay at the Gables Hotel. from arriving until we left, all the staff were excellent. the room was very nice and meals were very good. we will definitely be returning soon. A great base to visit local attractions.

have stayed at the gables many times now and have not been let down otherwise another fine stay,the only change this time was the breakfast ,it used to be waiter service .where you could state what you wanted .now it is buffet style with a set menu.have to say I preffered the old style

Disappointed upon check in. Greater by large vase of dead roses!. Not great 1st impression! The room was clean and quiet. The “deal” regarding the half bottle of Prosecco was a con as you had to buy a bottle at hotel prices to then be refunded half that price. Not acceptable. Don’t think I will be rushing back to stay here!

Hotel recepetionist very welcoming room ready on arrival very fast check in bar was ok but drinks expensive breakfast was nice only thing tea coffee cold had dinner in restaurant and food and sevice first class room was nice had a big four poster bed which was very comfortable and a nice big jazzui bath and a shower

We have stayed at this hotel before and this was one of the reasons for our return as last time hotel and food were lovely however we were very disappointed with the food this time. At check out we had to ask for our bill to be checked as they'd charged us full price for the bottle of wine which was part of the package.

Disappointed to say the the least the Room we were given was the smallest out o the Rooms in the Hotels 60 plus Rooms asked to be moved that request was denied The Bed was so close to the the bathroom my wife nearly broke her toe on two occasions the dressing table was so close to the Bed you had to walk sideways to get past my wife n I have both bruised our legs over the weekend trying to get out the Toilet I do believe the other rooms in the Hotel pictures look lovely but this Room should certain NOT be passed off as a DOUBLE ROOM ?

Just back from The Gables Hotel in Gretna. Enjoyed the overnight stay room was clean. Dinner and breakfast was most enjoyable. Staff were friendly and attentive at meal times. Had to wait at bar a while until I was served and the bed was not very comfortable. Couple of wee niggles however would not hesitate to return.

Had a very enjoyable stay. Hotel staff were very accommodating and pleasant to talk too. Food was excellent. Room could be doing with an upgrade but was clean and tidy.

We enjoyed our stay at Gables Hotel and only wished we could have stayed longer - we intend to call again hopefully in July - The staff were very helpful and the meals were more than adequate as well as being of good quality - The cost was very competitive and more reasonable than other hotels of similar standing - Deserves a higher rating

Great stay at the Gables, good food. Only complaint is the room could have done with a lick of paint and the bathroom ceiling being finished would have made it much nicer. We were not told what time check out was, when we went to ask at 10.15 we were told it was 10am check out. This is very early, especially on a Sunday morning.

Was a very relaxing stay well presented although looks better in pictures. My only real complaint was when we went to book a table in restaurant for evening meal we were told it was not possible as there was a wedding in that evening although we could have a meal in the bar which I did not feel comfy about, sitting eating while other guest and wedding party were going back and forward to outside garden and smoking area would think the hotel accommodate better for there guests .

We stayed for two nights. Our room was very clean and had been refurbished recently. Mattresses were comfortable. The only trouble we had was an overhot shower, which couldn't be made cooler, but it was tolerable and we didn't complain. A good cooked breakfast was provided and dinners were tasty and of generous quantity. All staff were cheerful and ready to help. A very pleasant stay.

Lovely stay for our Anniversary. Food was very nice. Room comfortable but a little dated and in need of some refreshing. Lovely breakfast in the breakfast room. Good location for the Gretna Outlets and exploring the area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only comment would be the dispute with our final bill when we checked out which was ultimately resolved after intervention by ourselves. Pleasant stay and would make a further visit to the hotel.

The room was shabby and tired. Paint flaking of the wall in the bathroom. One of the bathroom towels had makeup on it. Steak pie was inedible. We both did not finish it. The cooked breakfast although "cooked fresh" was cold and again we did not finish it. Although a two night stay we eat out on the second night and did not have breakfast on the last day. When we mentioned this to staff nothing was done. Really disappointing weekend and we'll definitely not be back. A total waste of money regardless of a deal or what we paid.

Had a lovely overnight stay in this hotel. The dinner was amazing big portions and piping hot. The staff were all lovely and any questions we had were answered without any hesitation. Would definitely stay in this hotel and I have already recommended it to family and friends.

Stopover on way south. Reception friendly, room in annex more than adequate. Had dinner as part of deal and it was fine, good choice and service. Would happily use again.
