Had a great weekend, rooms comfortable, bathrooms needing a wee bit of attention, quite grubby. We had breakfast and dinner and had no complaints at all, food was great, waiting staff very pleasant. Entertainment good on the Friday night which was Duncan but then there was another accordionist on the sat night, would have been good if it was something different

Best value for money hotel in Oban

In arrival we upgraded our room for a sea view and were happy to pay the surcharge. Room was clean apart from toilet which we had to get someone to clean. Bath handle had mould and mildew under it. Pipes around toilet which were in full view were thick with dirt/grime obviously hadn't been cleaned for a while. The member of staff took 10mins to clean and was spotless after that. I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and will always book back into this hotel. At present it is very difficult to get the dates required as fully booked. Love this hotel. Staff are very friendly and will go out there way to help. Always smiling and very courteous. More entertainment would be good. Food delicious. Fire alarm went off twice on my visit and staff knew exactly how to conduct guests and drill. Thank you.

The staff are all friendly espcialy the dinning staff. The hotel needs work done as it is very tired and needing some TLC. The outside of the hotel was needing a good brush to get rid of all the cigarette ends This WaS our second to the hotel ,the food was nice ,our room was facing the front, but my sisters was looking onto a skip not nice at all.

I expected that the Regent Hotel would be OK and with the great price we got through Classic Britain especially as it was Easter Weekend was a real Bonus. Whether it was Classic Britains 'best room available' promise or we were were just lucky I dont know but our room had fantastic views over the water.

We loved our stay in the Regent, the staff are just amazing, the room was warm and welcoming. Only downside was main course of meal on Saturday night. Not much choice, badly presented, (black gravy poured over everything). A better choice of main courses, and better presentation would make a great difference. Breakfast was lovely. Again, the staff are amazing!!!

Staff friendly and approachable- service in dinning room for breakfast and evening meal was exceptionally fast with no finesse- meals were fabulous!! Unfortunately fire alarm went off on our last evening at 3am- out in the cold night air caused my partner to incite a virus for the rest of the week- no late check out was offered which is disappointing for a hotel of this standard.

The hotel reception was nice and the staff really friendly but the hotel overall was in need of a complete refurbishment. The windows in our room were really dirty and the curtains full of stains.

Friendliness and helpfulness of staff was excellent. The food also was a pleasant surprise given the excellent value for money. Only small complaint would be that the bedrooms were in need of redecorating although we appreciate that it is nearing the end of the season. All in all good value for money. Thanks.

What a fantastic w/end break we had. Staff were helpful and friendly, nothing was too much for them. Food was excellent and well presented, I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.will be back again .

Didn't find staff very friendly. Bedroom was clean but basic, very draughty windows. Bathroom cold,shower curtain in need of replacing, mould on tiles around bath, with shower controls not working - very dangerous as no control over water temperature. Food was worst I have ever had, soup was tasteless, sent back, main course was was sent back as veg overcooked, potatoes lumpy and meat served in huge lump (have never had beef served like that). Although we spoke to hotel manager about these concerns and were offered an alternative meal, we declined, and decided to go out for a meal. I would certainly NOT reccomend this hotel and will never stay there again.

The weekend break was booked as an anniversary gift for my in laws. After booking I phoned the hotel as the payment had not been taken from my credit card, as I told this would be done. On the day of them arriving I again called the hotel and asked them to debit my credit card for the amount as I did not want the guests embarrassed that the account had not been paid, again this would be done. On department my in laws were told the bill was not paid, and had to speak to the manager. I specially asked that the amount was taken from my account to avoid this kind of embarrassment. So 2 phonecalls to request this and it was still not done. As a result, this tainted their stay at this hotel.

I regret booking this hotel. It is tired and in need of major investment to improve the facility. There was extensive mould in the bathroom and bedroom I did ask to be moved but was told there was no available room. The food and service were adequate but the decor lets this hotel down badly

I booked this hotel for relatives from Canada and while it was clean there were loads of issues with the decor and standard of the hotel. Not one I will be booking again any time soon
