Very nice hotel, impressed with room, clean , good size with large walk in shower. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed pool and facilities. Dining was good. First day breakfast, not much choice of cooked food. 2nd day much better choice, however problems with keeping food warm, due to equipment, dinner was very nice food warm, fresh and tasty. Great value. Would recommend and will return.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel really nice and clean and the staff are so helpful and friendly.

Staff very friendly, no problems at check-in etc. Disappointed at the variety of food on offer. Would have preferred a simpler menu with more variety as the dinner menu was quite limited, though we were fortunate to be offered choices from the bar menu on our 2nd night. Would also have liked more veg on the plate. Also very disappointed that the toiletries in the bathroom were from China, thought this would be an opportunity to showcase some local products. Overall enjoyed our stay with a special mention to the restaurant manager who was very helpful.

After staying at the hotel before and having an excellent experience we were really looking forward to our stay.firstly I found it odd to have to pay on arrival,we got up to our rooms and had no complaints,we then went down to have a drink but with the main bar shut there was minimal drink to choose from the whisky bar,then our meal was absolutely terrible,being told to choose from a carvery which was never stated,we decided to pay extra for steaks which was a bad idea because it had to get sent back twice and the other couple we were with didn't eat anything,service was atrocious,then to end the night we were looking forward to have a drink but the staff weren't to fussed on serving us and they closed the bar at 11pm,and breakfast was what we expected it to be.....rubbish.0 stars for the ardoe

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement booked this hotel on the basis that it was a 4 star hotel as I planned to propose to my partner and thought I couldn’t go wrong,I invited friends to join us on the trip as well which left us feeling very embarrassed,the service was terrible there was no wine list when I booked the room I was lead to believe we would be getting a three course dinner with a nice bottle of wine but instead it was a carvery so we up graded to the steak which was awful wasn’t cooked properly and had fat right through the middle,we got told the steaks we’re cooked from frozen we returned the steaks as they we’re not fit to eat and decided to have the carvery which was worse when I got handed a plate of scrag ends I just told them to keep it ,never thought food like this would of been served up,I went gry as did many others.the hotel should close and reopen when it’s ready to be a four star hotel. Absolute shambles

We had a lovely night away.. the room was very nice on the ground floor as we had dogs. The meal at night was lovely. Staff are a bit stretched.. felt a bit sorry for them.. Swimming pool lovely.. managed to go in twice . Allowed in after check out. Booking required but not a problem to get booked. Will certainly go back

Staff lovely. Food ok. Drinks expensive. Pool good. Except closed at six. This hotel could be really great. But little things let it down. The bar area is tiny. Lacking in staff through the day. Grounds need weeding. Downstairs toilets needed cleaned.

Drink very expensive, had the same menu 2 nights in a row, when we checked out she mentioned we could have had off the bar menu but weren’t told, also paid upgrade to privilege room not worth it didn’t even get a garden view had a big tree in front of the window, and snacks a joke!!!

Arrived at 2.45, was busy at check in with only one staff member, but after a short wait another staff member came to check us in, the room was lovely and very clean, got a bit lost looking for the pool, would have liked a little map and some information in the room. The evening meal, which was included in the cost was very good and the staff were very nice and friendly, bed was very comfortable and this must be one of the quietest hotels we have stayed in, no noise at all during the night. Breakfast was a bit awkward as you had to go into another room to get your food, but as with the night before the food was really good and a nice selection, only slight problem the plates were cold, staff were mostly young, but very nice and helpful.

Very enjoyable break. Modern room (slightly missed a bath) - comfortable and spacious. Great dinner with a lot of choice. Breakfast fine and hard working staff going out of their way to look after you.

We stayed 3 nights on a DBB basis. Our room was lovely, no complaints there. All of the staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. Paul, the head waiter and ‘jack o trades’ deserves a special mention as does Brian, the chef, even though we never met him. The food in the restaurant in the evenings was amazing! Definitely 5 star and to mirror other comments the hotel owners really should hold on to this duo! Breakfast was ok, a bit hit or miss. One waiter delivered my roll on sausage to me with his thumb on top of it to hold it onto the plate. Not worth complaining about, but in retrospect I should have especially in the cirstances we are living with at the moment. I would definitely recommend a stay here and would be more than happy to return. I just hope they increase the temperature of the pool next time!

Had a great 2 night stay The staff were Very friendly and did their very best to make it enjoyable I know that it has some teething problems after just reopening so I would make the suggestion that the menu should not be the same every night, great though the food is. Our main oection was that there was no when we needed it in the morning and evening so we mentioned it at reception and again the next day —- to be told it was on a time clock!!! I really think that should be seen to as it was only in our section

Great value for money. Recently reopened hotel which has had room upgrades. Standard double room was large and comfortable. As you might expect after months out of operation there were a couple of service issues. This did not create too much of an issue though and we throughly enjoyed our stay in this quite location with stunning views. Would definitely book again.

Beautiful hotel and the grounds were stunning. The rooms were clean and modern. Unfortunately, the hotel was terribly understaffed. Some staff were very friendly and welcoming and others not so much. Breakfasts were lovely however, dinner was not up to par. Even though dinner was included in our package for both evenings we felt obliged to eat out for dinner on the second evening as the first evenings dinner and service simply wasn’t enjoyable. Thank you to the staff that did make an effort to make us feel welcomed….it was greatly appreciated.

A lovely hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and had a great shower and comfy bed. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. Got the impression that they were short of staff but the staff present were great. As a long standing visitor to Ardoe I would say the grounds aren't up to the old standard but still beautiful. Definitely go back.

The hotel was just reopened under new management so there were some hiccups. I hope it will be successful as it has lovely rooms, grounds, swimming pool etc
