Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Golf & Spa, Peebles

Another lovely visit to Cardrona, a wee bit noisy on Saturday night due to a party evening. Service was great, they are due to refurbish some areas in early 2015 and it's probably necessary. Food was good on Saturday evening but even better on Sunday evening, breakfasts were outstanding. Leisure activities were good and it's nioted some parts are due an upgrade. Would we book again, yes, we would.

We really enjoyed our stay on 31 October - the Hotel was really busy but the staff were very friendly and helpful especially when my husband had a slight accident and pulled a muscle in his leg whilst we were down town - they helped with our luggage and provided an ice bucket and pack to relieve the swelling! well done!!!

The hotel itself is beautiful and the surrounding views just stunning. Our evening meal was divine and breakfast the following morning kept us full all day! The leisure facilities were more than suffice and spotlessly clean. The only downside we felt was to sit and have a relaxing drink in the lounge/bar area there weren't clearly enough tables and felt we were stuck with the only table left right at the front door !!!!! More tables and chair in this area is the only "fault" we could say. Would definitely return again as we felt it was exceptional value for money.

This is a lovely hotel - Room very clean - The only problem we had was that the service for our dinner was slow and my main course was cool but tasted pleasant. The price of wine expensive, but this is the same in all Macdonald hotels. Would return to this hotel.

Easy hotel to get to. Beautiful views from every window. Pleasant staff, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Bedrooms spacious and clean. Dining room service and food excellent. Would recommend hotel and certainly stay here again.

This was excellent value for money. Staff courteous facilities good and food could not be faulted. One of the best meals we have had on a DB&B deal. This is my second time here booking through Classic Britain and we will be back.

We had an enjoyable stay at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Golf and Spa.Liked the room on the 2nd Floor overlooking the Golf Course.Our dog enjoyed his walks.Service and food excellent.

The bedroom badly needs upgrading. The tiles in the bathroom were oily in places where I assume workmen had been and the floor tiles loose. The lounge space is totally inadequate for this busy hotel and is partly set up for breakfast in the morning. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

The bedroom was a bit tired although very comfy bed, the view was lovely. Couldn't check in until late which was inconvenient but you can use the facilities in the meantime. Had a discounted massage but was not 30 minutes as advertised in and out for 20. Make sure you clarify the time in the spa. Food was good and the deal excellent value at

This hotel is in a beautiful setting, the bedroom was large and nicely furnished with a fabulous view of the golf course. All the staff were friendly and pleasant. Only downside was the service in the restaurant, not enough staff, at breakfast no used plates were removed from table throughout the meal.

Recently, my husband returned to the resort with a fellow golfer for an overnight stay, and a game of golf on both days. They had a great time, enjoyed the golf and had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The staff were very nice and helpful. The only thing they wished they could have changed was the weather, but that's Scotland for you!
