Good location and car park. Big room with 2 double beds, very clean. Large lounge, bar, restaurant area. Dinner was very good. Buffet breakfast was average. Service very good.

Beautiful hotel. Beware if they have a large party or wedding happening - they literally take over the whole hotel. This also reflected in very very poor service in the restaurant. 45 mins until starter received soup returned as cold, over 45 minutes later after chasing up twice the main meal arrived two of which were incorrect. Clearly they had too many guests to service efficiently (greedy in my opinion) Shame as the rooms were spotless and the actual food was delicious. Would not stop there again. Location awful slap bang in the centre of a housing estate.

Hotel was lovely. Room mte than adequate. Found difficulty in working shower as did my friend. Tribute night excellent and meal was delicious. Only fault was lack of toilet paper in ladies toilets. Breakfast excellent but plates were a bit too warm and I burnt my finger.

Very nice hotel ,great food Spoiled by a very loud singer and band playing in the main entrance Apparently it was a wedding which had been vacating their venue so that it could be set up for the evening. It was that loud you struggled to hear the staff at check in . Was tempted to turn back The whole reception was taken over by wedding guests . Maybe it was unfortunate timing on my part but a lot of the guests were blocking the front door as they smoked . We've been here a few time but sorry to say that will be the last time

Again, another great stay. we have stayed here now 4 times as a couple, and with friends. We have enjoyed every stay. Breakfast was very busy on the Saturday, but we were in no rush.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff & great food, that's why we came back to this hotel. This was our third visit to the Riverside Lodge & we brought our friends with us this time & they were as impressed as we were. I don't often recommend hotels/holidays to others as peoples individual tastes & standards vary but I have no hesitation in recommending the Riverside Lodge.

Riverside was lovely ! No complaints with location, cleanliness in rooms, foyer and reception dining area was fine food was nice ! Deal for 2 was brilliant I would go back but not sure if I would dine at night there again.

stayed in this hotel a few times food is lovely bit busy at breakfast times so bit of a wait for table but all fine in the end the rooms are nicely done up just the furniture stilll bit dated overall 8/10

The hotel is part way through renovation and as such caused a slight delay in our room being ready (new headboard being fitted). Our room was part way through it's renovation but still very nice, clean and comfortable. The reception area, bar and restaurant are all very modern, where service was excellent. Evening meal was nice although, we did have to re-chose our starters and one of our mains as they had run out. My only disappointment with this hotel was the breakfast. It's a buffet breakfast and you have to queue to be seated, overlooking those who are already eating. Again, a lot of hot food items not available and a lot of people waiting at the end of the line for eggs, which is the main thing you would expect to always be available at a breakfast buffet?. The continental breakfast buffet also left a lot to be desired with no cheese / ham etc only yogurt and fruit and croissants if you managed to get one of the five that were brought out at a time. I think maybe scheduling a time for each room would be better, this would save queuing and would make replenishing the food items a bit easier, overall making the experience better for quests. All in all this is a nice hotel and we would stay again.

Just returned from an overnight stay at Riverside Lodge Hotel in Irvine. The hotel is in a lovely setting although kind of out of the way and not within walking distance of much in the area. I had booked this for a quiet overnight stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had booked a deluxe double room which was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was great. The best advice I can give to anyone planning on staying at this hotel is when booking, please ask if they have any large functions taking place. The bar is not big enough to accommodate function guests and hotel guests! On arrival, there was a large crowd was gathered outside the entrance. You had to walk through a cloud of smoke! The crowd was for a wedding that was taking place. OMG, we walked in the reception to check in and you could hardly move! The wedding party had taken over the whole place. I could hardly hear myself think whilst We waited patiently in the queue to check in. By the time we eventually got checked in, a band had started singing in the bar area. I told the receptionist that I couldn’t hear a word she was saying and she just laughed! We left our bags in the room and planned on going to the bar for a quiet drink. How wrong were we, the wedding party was still in full flow within the bar and there was not a seat to be had. We left the hotel and went for a drive to the local shopping centre returning a while later. On our return we thought great, the wedding party were in the function suite and we could have a quiet drink. Following our dinner around 7pm we came out of the restaurant to be greeted again by the wedding party taking over the bar. No seats to be had anywhere in the place, I asked reception if there were any additional seating areas we could have a drink to be told that the wedding party would be returning to the function room shortly! It wasn’t until around 8.30pm that we managed to get a seat in the bar area when members of the wedding party started going back into the function suite. I should say that the wedding party were not the issue, they were just enjoying the day, the only issue we had was with the hotel facilities and not having available seating for ALL guests. Now I totally understand that the hotel has functions however it should not be at the detriment of their other hotel guests. So disappointing for our overnight anniversary stay!!!

Lovely hotel with great food. Drinks very expensive, around £7.50 for a pint! and extra course with meal nearly £10 (cheese and biscuits) no prices on menu for third course or drinks menu so be aware! Room was lovely but the beds were not comfortable and the bathroom was very dusty. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
