just spent a thoroughly fantastic time at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and service was given with a smile in every department of the hotel. Our room overlooked the golf course with wonderful views and we were pleasantly surprised to find a large walk in shower as well as a bath in our en-suit. The spa facilities and treatments were wonderful, would highly recommend the full body massage. The evening meal was divine, a true taste sensation, made with top quality ingredients and beautifully presented. Couldn't fault the hotel, staff or service in any way.............can't wait to go back!

Stayed in this hotel quite a number of times. This particular offer was fantastic and the golf course in excellent condition. We were given an upgraded bedroom overlooking the golf course and were delighted. The food and staff in the restaurant were excellent. We had a wonderful overnight stay and will be back again. 9 for bedroom. With net curtains to limit window view 'in' on roadside it would have been 10. Great shower, well presented room. Excellent service. A 10 would have been scored if service at dinner was provided by one waiter instead of three. Nevertheless all courteous and informative of food range. Food was excellent. A 10 would have been scored if the menu on the second day of dinner had been varied (main course menu the same as previous evening). Portion size was excellent.

Well staff was good hotel was in good location. places to walk all round you some just bit drive away, very nice walks. the food was good for non vegetarian but for vegetarian can do with more choice, ans with less salt. But otherwise can't fault any, would I stay again? yes I will.

An excellent deal - we had dinner, bed and breakfast and a free game of golf. My only slight criticism was we were in a front facing bedroom. It was quite noisy as we were facing the road. In the warmer weather, we wanted to open the windows to get some fresh air, but this was impossible due to the noise. The service was great and the food lovely. Very good value for money.

Shortage of lounge space. Menu has varied little over the last year quality of cooking is very good and presentation excellent. Some areas are a little tired and a vacuum cleaner could be put to good use in the small lounge area.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Cardrona. The room was spacious and well mantained. The staff were very friendly and the food 1st class. The golf course was in excellent condition. So all in all a super break.

The hotel was excellent. We had a lovely stay and the staff in particular were friendly and professional - very well trained. A pleasant surprise was a hot breakfast cooked to order as opposed to buffet style which is usually tepid and not very good.

Rooms clean and comfortable. Problem with window as only opened a few inches and one window was locked. One glass in a twin room but brought more very quickly. Food good but glasses a bit dirty with finger marks in the restaurant and orange juice 'pulp' at breakfast. Louge area could do with a clean - drinks/splash marks on several areas of the walls and looked a bit dusty. Pool and sauna were fine - not really a spa hotek though as was quite noisy with children in the pool so not a relaxing spa break really. Spa Treatments hit and miss depending on which beautician you had. Looked like a good golf course if you were using it. lovely location and scenery.
