We had a very enjoyable stay, food was excellent and all the staff we met were very approachable and helpful. Spa treatment (top to toe was a real treat and both the young therapist's that both my husband and I had were very good at the job and nice people.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cardrona earlier this week. The glorious weather was a bonus. Our room was excellent and service to the room, reception staff,golf professional and Spa staff were superb.However, we were disappointed with the poor choice for vegetarian meals, and thought whilst the staff were all very pleasant, they lacked awareness and speed at the table. The food was very tasty and always nice and hot.

Everything at the Peebles Cardrona was excellent. The staff were first class, the rooms excellent, the hotel facilities of a high quality. We also played on the hotel golf course and very much enjoyed it - unlike other comments made regarding the course, when we played it was dry which clearly made a big difference. One comment regarding service was delays during dinner on our first night - we were left for more than 20 minutes before our order was taken despite being told when shown to our table that our order would be taken in a couple of minutes. This meant that dinner took over four hours. Also with only 5 or 6 options for starter/main (there was plenty of choice, this is not a negative) more than 20 minutes to make your choices is too long. Subsequent nights the service speed was excellent. On a separate note, a Jacuzzi would make a big difference to the leisure facilities. Otherwise, we definitely intend to return to the Peebles Cardrona Hotel, and, if the rates are competitive, will be very happy to book via Classic Britain. Thanks.

Great value last moment break. Remember to book dinner if you have booked DB&B. I forgot to book the restaurant prior to our arrival. When we check in at 15.00 we were told the earliest time a table was available was at 20.45 and had to opt for eating at the bar for our first night and there was nothing the reception staff could do about it.

Stayed here a few times because it was a real gem of a place. Room was fantastic. Only thing that let our stay down this time was the cooked breakfast was terrible. The bacon was like rubber, the scrambled eggs were undercooked and tasteless and the black pudding was rotten. Possible just a once off as normally it is very good. The food service was also much slower than any previous visits I have had. Disappointed to see couples come and get served before I was at both dinner and breakfast.

Overall this is a really nice hotel, with excellent facilities, in a lovely setting. Food at the hotel is really good. If you enjoy golf you will find a long challenging course in great condition. Couple of areas for development are around staffing, where service can be slow & some are miserable (golf dept especially) Also my bed was hard & lumpy & my tv/remote didn't work.

We have stayed at Cardrona Hotel a few times and it gets better and better! We went with friends this time and my friend and I played golf while our wives enjoyed a treatment at the Spa. Staff are fabulous and friendly and the standard of the hotel is excellent. We will return, we love the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel!

We stayed for two nights as as expected room was clean and well presented. We took our wee dog with us this time and it was really good getting a hotel to accommodate a pet. Unfortunately our dog was not too happy about us leaving the room for dinner, however after explaining this to staff they delivered both breakfast and dinner to our room both days. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful especially our waiter who delivered most of our food!! Excellent stay - highly recommended. Great walks if you are taking a dog with you and as a bonus the weather was great!! The meals were the business - excellent!

Hi this is our fourth time at the cardrona and recommended it to our friends which they turned up to surprise us but we felt a bit disappointed as I did notice this time the rooms are a let down and the service was slow I think it will be a while before I am back but the food was excellent

Booked the Macdonald Cardrona for a three night stay on a DBB rate that came with a special offer of a half price Spa treatment for the ladies and a round of golf for the gentlemen.
