Great hotel in a lovely setting. Nice staff and food very good. Big swimming pool and a good area for walking. Golf course long and lots of bunkers!!

This was a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The bedroom we had was big and with a comfortable bed also quiet although near the road. The staff were very kind and excellent in every way. Food in dining room was very good with a great choice in all three courses. lastly what a super swimming pool for an early morning swim!

Stayed overnight on Sunday 11 May and had an extremely enjoyable stay. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Service in restaurant was first class, as was the food which was top quality and well presented. Rooms were a good size, well appointed, clean and quiet. My only minor criticism would be the pillows which were uncomfortable and could do with being replaced. Notwithstanding that, we will definitely be back and would highly recommend this hotel for a break.

Overnight stay,men golfing, women having Spa treatment.Good value for the deal we got ,but would be overpriced if no discount.Wine prices way too much.Golf course greens not of high standard(because of weather)and we should have been advised as such.Many golfers not happy.Would give Cardrona another visit if suitable deal came around.

The hotel was excellent but the golf course was not fit for purpose. The greens were spiked and sanded and virtually unplayable. Had we been told this we would not have played. This needs sorting. We would not book for a golf break her again.

The room we had overlooking the golf course was very nice and spacious only slightly tired looking with a lovely bathroom (bath & separate shower), the hotel pool was also very good. The food was very tasty but not without its problems. The main problem seemed to be the management of staff. There seemed to be plenty just not organised very well. We arrived at 3.45pm as we wanted to use the pool before we got ready for the evening. However as we entered the lobby area, there were dozens of people with bags and clothes lying all around and we immediately knew there was a problem. As we checked in we were told that our room was not ready and would we mind waiting about 10-15mins. We were also told to get a tea or coffee while we waited. So, we dumped our stuff in a corner, as there were no spare seats due to all the people waiting to get into their rooms, and then asked the barman for 2 coffees, he gave us them and tried to charge us

Was a lovely hotel was disappointed with cheak in was informed 3pm but was waiting till after 4pm for booking in. Was very helpful in getting a spa treatment at short notice. Great deal, love lovely views, exceptional food, excellent service top class.

This stay was booked as a surprise for my sister & brother in law to celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay, commenting on the size of the bed which they found enormous!!! The food was very good too - in fact they enjoyed it so much they are planning a return stay later in the year

Unfortunately we were only booked for 1 overnight. The hotel was lovely and the setting perfect. The room was comfortable and clean with all amenities as expected. We used the spa and had really good treatments and all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Staff in the rest of the hotel were equally as helpful. I have to say though the high point was the evening meal which was possibly the best meal we had been presented with for some time. Hats off to the chef's and all kitchen staff!! Will definitely be going back. Next time though we can take our wee dog too which is another bonus!! The only drawback for me was that I asked for more milk for the room and it didn't arrive but to be fair I probably drink too much anyway!! Was still a great wee break which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We had a lovely stay along with our black Labrador Ollie. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would return as we found the surrounding area great for walking the dog and the hotel for the relaxing atmosphere.

Leisure facilities were very good especially the golf. Very helpful in Pro shop and Leisure reception. We can't comment on evening meals as we didn't eat dinner in the hotel restaurant. Breakfasts were adequate, plenty of fresh fruit, the coffee and tea was hot and quickly served. I was very pleased to see Marmite was available. Bedroom was a bit shabby, carpet was very faded. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom looked as if it had been updated recently, was very clean and well presented. We booked with Classic Britain some time before our stay but didn't receive a confirmation. Only when checking out we discovered we had actually booked Dinner, Bed & Breakfast so we were disappointed that the hotel couldn't change the booking so charged us the full amount and advised us to contact yourselves for a refund. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly return, the next time with bikes to enjoy the cycle paths around the Peebles area.

Cannot fault anything at the Cardrona -staff are very attentive and food is of a high standard. Also had a spa treatment which was excellent value for money. Will certainly return.
