I booked 2 rooms for The tamala Motown night,for myself and friends,rooms are tried and in need of a facelift ,our meal was included in the night which was terrible,breakfast was ok,my husband and friends got the fry up and I asked for 2 poached eggs they told me there wasn’t any eggs left as they had all been fryed or scrambled ,and that was us down early that morning ?

Had a great night at the Tinto! Rooms are large and clean, Staff polite and attentive, food excellent and the entertainment first class with a big shout out to the dj who had the company on the floor dancing from the outset. Brilliant hotel and would highly recommend - we will be back!

The weekend was excellent staff very helpful and friendly. Food both nights was excellent also entertainment was also good even though not a great amount booked. Only disappointment no rose wine on Friday and was assured the bar would be stocked for the Saturday four people in our company and only got one bottle on Saturday apparently only four bottles were purchased. Not great for a hotel with wine menus.

We were well looked after and the staff were great. The New Year’s Eve party was excellent but the entertainment for New Year’s Day was perhaps not the best choice for the majority of guests, though that’s not suggesting the duo performing was bad. We understand there’s been some refurbishment, however in our rooms, while the beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious, the bathrooms were in need of a facelift, the baths in particular being difficult to get in and out of. Also no lift but there are ground floor rooms if you can’t do stairs.The hotel was easy to find but fairly isolated, so there’s the feel of being in the country but also the necessity of the car - for example, it’s suggested that Tinto Hill overlooks the hotel, however if you want to climb it then the addition of the walk to and from it may prove too far. The biggest letdown for us was the number of dogs staying there. None of them caused any problems or created a nuisance but there was a distinct ‘wet dog’ smell in some parts of the hotel, and no point sitting in the lounge if there’s any reason for you to avoid them. For us, while we do think it’s good that dogs are allowed to stay, we weren’t particularly keen on having them around in the communal areas.

We booked the hotel for the Hogmanay 3 days and we had a wonderful time. The hotel was clean and well looked after. The staff were polite and extremely nice and helpful. The food was fabulous and the fact we could take our dog a bonus. The rooms are obviously in the process of being updated, and the bathrooms are a bit dated but the beds were lvery comfy. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again. X

The reason we picked the hotel it's dog friendly, It's a lovely hotel with grounds to walk our dogs, the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are wonderful especially the manager, nothing was too much trouble. The food is well prepared, The entertainment was very good

Everything was 5 star from the warm welcome at check in, accommodation , staff were all terrific nothing was to much bother, food was beautiful fresh well presented and plentyfull, entertainment on both nights was excellent. Would highly recommend the hotel and will definitely be back

Lovely hotel and lovely cozy rooms. The food was a bit disappointing and the portions sizes were more for children than adults but we did get it on a deal so they maybe cut back on the food a little.Over all had a very pleasant stay

Very nice hotel. Immaculately clean, with very good friendly service. Lamb on the first night was a bit tough but everything else was very good. Lovely base to explore the surrounding area and would definitely stay here again.

Had a lovely overnight stay with family at the Tinto Hotel 60/70's Tribute night. Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable but bathrooms a bit dated and need upgraded. Dinner and Breakfast was very nice. Would definitely make a return visit to this hotel.

hotel public areas clean and country house style, with a couple of exceptions the staff are a bit lost and would benefit from more training, food was generally very good. Bedroom large and airy but too hot and the radiator would not turn off, bathroom extractor fan not working a large patch of black mould on ceiling as a result, toilet brush filthy, shower curtain rail rusty and dirty. I spoke to a staff member about these problems and was told that that room was waiting to be upgraded. Perhaps then they will clean the toilet brush! Regardless of the problems a very pleasant stay.

Hi there Stayed Sat and Sun last weekend, Sat night was 80s night, had a great night. 3 course dinner was lovely, entertainment bril, staff were fine, no issues Sun morning brekky wee bit underpar but prob due to volume of people and staff under pressure in kitchen! Some difference on Monday morning for brekky, cos it was quiet brekky quality was superior. I know brekky should be quality all rhe time but willing to give staff a bit of slack, will be back again no problem!

We had a great evening at the Tinto Hotel, 80's evening. The hotel has been modernised recently and now has a nice warm feeling about,it. Our room was fresh and clean with a good supply of coffee and tea. Our evening meal was picked from a choice of three starters,mains and deserts all appeared to be very good. There was a large attendance at the function and everyone was friendly and many people were in fancy dress. I was just a little feed-up that Tina Turner beat me to the first prize but I suppose she looked better than a punk rocker. Its a great value evening

Lovely Hotel,Country house in style.Great 4 night stay DBB. Staff Fantastic, JULIE/LINDA/ELAINE. made us feel welcome. Food Exellent. Only point I would like too make,is the water pressure from shower was low ( room 14 )
