Murrayshall House Hotel, Scone

Food and service were of a high standard. The bedroom was clean and well appointed, but quite cramped, with only one chair. It clearly wasn't an upgrade. The room was about half the size of the one at The Green Hotel, where we had spent the previous two nights.

I was a nice surprise to be allocated The Lodge instead of a bedroom, but it should have been freshened up before our arrival. There were a lot of dead flies, the bath was not clean, and the front door is so dirty it gives a bad first impression.

Though we only stayed for one night we both look forward to the opportunity of another , perhaps longer stay. The hotel was very relaxed, with first class service and excellent food.

Not too impressed with the food ..have had better in 2 star establishments..too much emphasis on presentation rather than amount and quality ..i.e..chipped potatoes were much the same as one might find in a carry-out from Burger King ..rather poor to say the least ..Other than that we had a pleasant stay..staff quite friendly apart from Hotel Manager who seem to prefer to converse with the golfing fraternity rather than the normal hotel guests such as ourselves..perhaps he should take a few tips from hotel manager / owner from example " The Norseman Hotel " in Wick..Apart from the Plush surroundings of this Hotel the service and food was not any better than that of some of the 2/3 star hotels we have frequented in the last 6 years ..Doubtful about returning back to this Hotel ..

Food quality for dinner was excellent but breakfast only average - tea & toast both cold. Dinner on Table d'Hote menu gave only two choices of main course - scallops & beef cheek - and on second night beef cheeks was 'off' and no replacement. This forced me into the A la carte menu, with consequent excess payment over the allowed

Had a lovely relaxing stay at Murrayshall Hotel. Public areas and grounds beautiful. The food was excellent, as was the service. We found staff to be friendly an accommodating. Although rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, they were a wee bit tired looking, not quite superior room standard. However, this didn't spoil our stay and wee will go back.

Food was excellent, my one criticism would be that the menu was a little limited. Fine for a couple of nights, but for a longer stay may have been restrictive. The rest of the hotel was first class.

A lovely relaxing hotel but unfortunately food disappointing. poor choice on set menu. good a la carte menu. breakfast very good.

Very enjoyable stay, suite was nicely decorated and furnished. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Food was exceptional. The only very small observation was The bed in our suite was 2 single beds together and therefore left a ridge at the join.
