Green Hotel, Kinross

A very enjoyable stay at this hotel - we had a lovely room looking out on the garden; the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was of a very high standard. One small gripe - the dining room, which was very attractively decorated, lacked ambience because of the small number using it in the evenings, whereas Jock's Bar, we noticed, was very busy.

Had a nice relaxing break at the Hotel,the room was comfortable and the staff were friendly,we enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant on our first night and the food was delicious. I would go back there again.

Hotel slightly dated but clean and welcoming. Stafff overall were very helpful and accommodating most going far and beyond. Breakfast was the biggest issues for our party. No real information any where but if you asked certain staff tried to assist, no one in charge for smooth running of service. No labels for food, unhygienic presentation of breakfast cereals, toaster not performing well and later on in service buffet should be replenished or orders taken. Same drink order over 2 day stay but different price structure obtained. Scoring lower all due to breakfast. We would return.

We found the service in both the restaurant and the bar very good indeed compared to a previous visit a couple of years ago. The bedrooms were very comfortable but there are areas in the hotel,[ corridors for example] where the carpets require replacement.

Reception staff were very helpful when we arrived there was no record of our booking for the green hotel although I had booked it on myhotelbreak.com. Showed the email confirmation and was told that it hasn't gone through on there system. There was no rooms big enough for our party but thankfully the receptionist was able to get us a room at the hotel across the road and offered us a complementary drink while we waited. Good customer service but a bit worrying that these seems to of been a breakdown from booking on this website and the hotel. Therefore cannot review the rooms as we never stayed at this hotel...

The rooms in the hotel are really spacious with a good en suite. The furnishings on the chairs need replacing and the lighting by the bed modernising. Presumably this will happen with the Leckie family involvement. We hadn't realised that the pool is across the road in the sister hotel but as it was dry it wasn't a problem. The staff were all cheerful and helpful. We enjoyed visitingLoch Leven castle and walking round the Loch home for lots of whooper swans at the moment.

Had a great stay here last week. Lovely welcome from the receptionist, and all the other staff we met. Our room was a bit tiired and needs decorating but was very clean as was the bathroom. The food at dinner in the Basil Resturant was superb as was breakfast. Also thanks to David Mondell for showing us around the venue where he puts on various muscial evenings, which we hope to come back to. Would will definitely use this hotel again.

We went to the Windlestrae Hotel as The Green Hotel was full ....The hotel experience was first class ...value for money. .....staff courteous and extremely attentive.......only negatives were quality of breakfast food not the best and the hotel sign needs to be better light up

Staff were lovely, we booked a family room, it was clean and a very good size.. Hotel rooms are a bit tired looking but wouldn't put me off returning here again. Dinner at jocks was delicious. Tried the Italian restaurant, that was ok. Kids enjoyed the pool.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Got an excellent deal on myhotelbreaks so wasn't really expecting much or have particularly high expectations but loved our visit. We were early for check in so had a bite to eat and a drink at jocks, it was quiet but staff were very friendly and attentive. Sindi on reception was just brilliant. Had dinner across the road in windlestrae and again encountered friendly and attentive staff. Enjoyed a round on the Bruce course which was great! Pro did an excellent job giving us a quick course guide before teeing off. We were blessed with lovely weather and could enjoy a nice chilled drink in the courtyard bar before dinner. All in all staff were superb room was immaculate food was great and hotel was up to standard will definitely be back!!

Arrived 5pm, check-in was quick and staff pleasant. Our family room was big - 2 singles pushed together to make a large double and a sofa bed. Both beds comfortable. We booked into the restaurant for dinner, the food was delicious and the service was good (I liked that they have waiters & waitresses training (visible by their name tag) in silver service). Breakfast was busy but there was plenty of fresh food on the hot buffet table. Also lots of staff on hand to assist / serve. We used the leisure facil over the road (2 min walk). Clean and tidy. Decent sized pool. They knew it was my husbands birthday and when we arrived there was a birthday card and a couple of glasses if prosecco waiting. The hotel is a little tired but a peaceful / relaxing stay with good food.

Two rooms booked for Saay night but slight problem at check in as one room was booked for Saay night and the other room was booked for Sunday night. We were asked to wait in the lounge while reception staff sorted out the problem. We were provided with coffee & biscuits while it was sorted. Staff very nice & apologetic. Made a booking for a table for dinner but when we arrived at the dining room they didn't have our booking so no table ready. Had to wait again while problem was sorted. However overall hotel & food was good.

Enjoyed my stay otel is at the Green Hotel but noticed massive cut backs since my last visit.The staff were very pleasant but it was obvious that the number of staff has been cut back and were run off there feet.This did have an effect on the level of service but they did the best they could do. The rooms are clean but a little tired looking.All in all you can feel that it is on a downward spiral which is a pity as it is a lovely hotel. The food was ok rather than great.
