Scotlands Spa Hotel, Pitlochry

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Pitlochry. We usually visit twice a year and stay at the Hydro, but decided to try Scotland's for a change. We look forward to our next visit, in late summer / autumn and may book with you again if the price is right. Regards Tom & Mary Caird

loved this hotel,some areas were a bit tired looking and in need of a little decoration. but all the staff were great very friendly and helpful.nice dinner and breakfast.good location. bar meals were excellent. would definitely stay here again.

Good Location, leisure pool lovely but feler a bit chilly. Rooms well equipped but quite small so a bit stuffy to spend any time in. staff very friendly and helpful and food excellent! Overall would highly recommend but suggest upgrade to better room if available.

Rooms in need of upgrade but spacious. Food was excellent. Leisure facil extremely disappointing as gym is outdated and in poor repair with no treadmill.

Hotel is a bit dated, could do with a spruce up! Our room.was a suite which was nicely laid out with nice views but could do with a lick of paint. We had a problem with hoer which seemed to get colder as our stay went on!! The hotel in general lacked any atmosphere, none of the bars in the public areas were open other than the bar next door. The restaurant seemed more of a function suite but the food for dinner and breakfast was delicious. Service was a bit chaotic though! There is a nice spa at the hotel where we had a lovely back massage. The pool area has seen better days, was very dirty and never seen it once get cleaned or tidied up (pool toys, cups, chairs everyehere). Lifeguard just sits there staring at you swim, very uncomfortable!! Staff in general seemed a bit all over the place or came across quite rude!! This could be the making of a beautiful hotel with some TLC and better trained staff, such a shame as so much competition in the town.

Food was excellent, breakfast and dinner . Didn't seem to have enough waiting staff serving breakfast as we waited a while both mornings for our order to be taken . Room was nice as was the wine and chocs we were given !!

Just returned from a 2 night break which overall was great and excellent value for money. The staff were lovely, the rooms were lovely but some areas in the hotel are tired and in need of updating. Service in the restaurant could have been better, just a bit more organisation required.

We were in the annexe which had water dripping through the door frames from roof, absolutely stank of dampness. Room was exceptable but certainly not executive upgrade they told us we were getting. Very disappointed. Booked in for two nights with dinner at McNabs on second night, reception should advise booking as it's extremely busy, we did but many had to wait for some time on tables. On a positive staff were very helpful & friendly, very hard working. Food was very enjoyable. But don't think I would go back. Had taken two other couples & felt a bit let down, stick to Fishers which I've booked with your selves for about the last six years & enjoyed our stays there

Restaurant was walk way to swimming/spa facilities so was quite uncomfortable when eating dinner, other guests going past with wet hair etc. Also we had the DBB option which wasn't explained clearly to us when we checked in and ended up paying for our dinner-. Have stayed here before and was disappointed. Also woken up at 6am by cleaner putting on telly in room next door.

Overall a good experience for our first time with Classic Britain. We know Scotland's Hotel, having stayed there several times previously and their service was up to their usual good standard.

We only stayed one night, but overall we enjoyed it. The main reason for not giving the room a higher rating was that we were unable to open either window as both had broken sash cords and had also been painted over to such an extent that they would not have opened anyway. My wife suffers with her breathing, particularly if the room she is in becomes hot as this one did by late evening and in the morning. That apart, it is not particularly healthy for anyone to be prevented from receiving fresh air if they want it.

HAVING BOOKED THE HOTEL, AND THEN READING THE REVIEWS I STARTED TO THINK IF I HAD DONE THE RIGHT THING. YES THE BUILDING IS OLD AND THE COMMENTS ABOUT THE SMELL OF URINE WHEN ENTERING THE BUILDING WAS NONSENSE. THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY WELCOMING, I HAVE FOUND IF YOUR FRIENDLY TO THE PUBLIC THEY WILL BE FRIENDLY BACK.(MAYBE SOME PEOPLE SHOULD TRY THIS). WE WERE GIVEN OUR KEYS AND POINTED IN THE DIRECTION, YES THE ROOMS ARE BASIC AND PROBABLY IN NEED OF DECORATION BUT THEY WERE VERY CLEAN. WE HAD THE SIX COURSE TASTER MEAL, THE STAFF COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE ATTENTIVE AND WE WERE WELL LOOKED AFTER. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS THERE WAS NOTHING WE COULD FAULT. BREAKFAST WAS TO THE SAME STANDARD AS THE NIGHT BEFORE. WE HAD A VERY ENJOYABLE STAY AT THIS HOTEL AND WOULD HOPE TO RETURN AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. AS FOR THE HORRENDOUS REVIEWS THAT HAVE BEEN WRITTEN I THINK THESE PEOPLE NEED TO GET A LIFE.

Whilst this is an old hotel, it has been renovated and we found it very comfortable and pleasant. Jackson and his staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We will definitely go back.

Another great stay at the Scotland`s Hotel! The "young person" menu was trialled on the Monday night - big success with our two 12 year olds! Portion sizes ideal for 2 growing boys who now eat from adult menus - but more ideal choices than the taster menu! Another great plus is the accommodation over the road - again ideal when you have kids at an age they need some space but all together!
