Twice we have stayed at the Columba and both times at checkout they have tried to charge us for food which was included in our booking price. Thankfully I always take a printout of booking confirmation. Hope this is just a breakdown in communications. That said enjoyed our stay.

Had a fantastic 2 day stay! The hotel was clean and cosy, the staff very helpful and friendly. We had a delicious evening meal on the first night and the breakfast on both days was huge and tasty! We will definitely be back!

Very friendly, helpful staff. Room we stayed in had a dirty stained carpet and decor and furniture a bit dated. Food in restaurant and Bistro bar was awful..watery soup and bland tasteless food. Breakfast was ok.

In general, a good short break certainly value for money. We are not great lovers of open wardrobes,and there were no hangers we could transfer to traditional wardrobe, also drawer space could be improved. All staff were very friendly. We had one bad evening meal experience,when we found the braised steak the toughest and gristliest we have had. (left approx 60%) I mentioned this to waitress when she asked if meal was ok and manager came over to discuss. He offered replacement of our choice (or a Brandy!) to compensate. This was politely declined but appreciated!

not what I expected from a 4* hotel. Bathroom freezing. Paint peeling off widows. Food below average. Had to go and ask for our complementary bottle of wine. Internal phone system not working. Wont be using Columba again. The staff were very pleasant.

Got a great deal at this hotel, b&b plus dinner on one night of our two night stay. The evening meal in the hotels main dining room was average, would have liked to have the choice to eat in their adjoining bar with a better selection of meals.The dining room lacked a bit of atmosphere, the breakfasts were really good, help yourself to as much as you want, the rooms need a bit of updating, bed was very comfortable, room was lovely and warm. Staff very helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely room, spacious, and with a well laid-out en-suite. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, dinner in the 'bistro' was a real disappointment. Service was very slow, and they appeared to be understaffed. My starter was over cooked, my main had luke warm vegetables and undercooked potatoes, My partner had bland soup and tasteess fish, although the batter and chips were good. The puddings were good, but spoiled by slow service again. My recommendation would be to stay here, but eat somewhere else.
