This hotel is great value for money. The included evening meals were excellent with a good choice. The Continental breakfast provided a great selection of foods and was well stocked. Staff were continually replenishing anything that was a little low. The staff were friendly and helpful with a special mention to the lady on the breakfast room door. One downside was the poor free Wi Fi. It continually dropped out and it didn't pick up automatically, email and password had to be entered every time. However overall a good Hotel in the middle of town

We have just returned from a four night break at Royal Highland Hotel, staff are lovely bit of a hiccup with disabled room that I booked months in advance but the receptionist was very nice and got it sorted. The food in Ash Restaurant was excellent.Regards the drinks I think £3.30 for a can of e is excessive. Breakfast is still £5 per head for cooked which I feel there is no need for as other hotels are all back to normal and serving cooked breakfast at no extra cost. It’s a great hotel, following covid rules etc, well worth a visit.

Love the Royal Highland Hotel. Being adjacent to the railway station and so central for the shops and the river is a big plus. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was spotless with a very comfortable bed. We had been to this hotel before and were extremely disappointed that we did not get a great cooked breakfast like before but were given a mediocre continental breakfast. I paid the £5 extra to get a cooked breakfast which was also disappointing, not even any toast served with it. On our second morning we missed breakfast going elsewhere. I hate giving negative reviews but we really were disappointed

Had read negative reviews and set my expectations low thinking at this great price what do you expect. Turned out to be a great wee break and more than value for money. Yes it's an old hotel but anything reasonable has been done to make it a good stay. Rooms are quite small but nice touch to have fans in them and spotless too. Food and tail within our deal was lively too and didnt feel at all let down. If it wasnt so far for us to travel I'd book this again. Decided on 2nd day to upgrade to cooked breakfast which was worth the five pounds. Was surprised to see the very large continental still on the table to have 1st. We said it would be too much and would they like to take away before we touch it. The most lovely lady said not at all it's yours would you like bags to take away and have on journey home. This was great and stopped half way home to enjoy. Cant really be negative at all at £135 for 2 nights with tail, dinner and breakfast go for it folks. If you expect over 3 star at this price then go elsewhere.

Great value 2 night DBB at this hotel. Friendly staff, Ash restaurant food was delicious, breakfast was continental which was ok or you could pay £5 for full English. room could be doing with an upgrade but very clean. Really handy for train and bus station. Would definitely stay again!

Issue on 1st night with noisy resident next door who assumed it was OK to listen at high volume to the Olympics at 0430, I made it clear to the resident this was far from acceptable. Can’t thank Fiona the receptionist On duty who dealt with this by allocating us another room. Stay was pleasant and exactly what we expected for the star rating. Central and convenient for access to all city centre bars and restaurants. 9 hotel free car parking spaces which were as you could imagine in demand. Local multi storey at £7 for 24 hours within a short walk. All round good stay with decent menu.

Hotel run down and in need of repair/modernising. Some staff smiled, others dour and not approachable.Food plain and without variety for continental breakfast. Dinner-prawns of rubber but overall, fish and burgers were fine.

Recently enjoyed a 2 night break at this hotel. Check in was quick and efficient. Room was a little small and dark but had everything that was needed. Some very squeaky floorboards in the room! Excellent hot shower. Enjoyed the tail and evening meal included in the package. Best that can be said about the "continental breakfast" was that it was adequate. Didn't bother to upgrade to the cooked option. All in all, happy with the deal we had and would stay here again as so central.

Hotel was very old fashioned but had character especially in the main public area’s and Breakfast Room. Felt the Ash Restaurant could do with a revamp especially when you can just come in off the street. Doesn’t look very appealing inside or out. We had meals included so cannot complain really but would definitely not pay the prices asked for in the Ash if meals hadn’t been included as they weren’t that great presented and staff here not that particularly friendly but ok. The lady in the breakfast room was really nice and friendly so pass on good comments to her please.Rooms were tired but clean and had a good sleep. Hotel very central for everything. Train,bus shops etc.If I got a good deal I would probably stay again.
