Inn at Lathones, St Andrews

thoroughly enjoyed our recent 2 night stay at the inn, its rural location may not suit everyone but the location is ideal for visiting the coastal resorts of the East Neuk of Fife. The sheer quirkiness of the accommodation gives the inn that rustic appeal. The food served at the Inn was excellent, we could not fault it. The staff are very friendly and Michael made our stay with his service and politeness

Had a two night stay at Inn at Lathones 25th and 26th March to celebrate wedding anniversary. Check in was great followed by lovely scones and coffee. The meals on both nights were absolutely lovely, the dining and lounge areas so nice and comfortable. The breakfasts were good, but everything was egg. The staff were so nice and very attentive. The rooms are reasonable size and bed comfortable but could do with some decorating. The walls are extremely thin and you can hear EVERYTHING next door, which was not pleasant and kept us awake all Saturday night. We also had no room cleaning, no bed made during our stay.

This inn requires a full renovation & a lot of tender loving care. Windowsill wood rotten, bathroom in our room 2 water pressure terrible, problems with having , radiator rusty and dusty. Bedroom ok but bed linen was not good quality at all. The food was excellent and the staff were too. I would recommend going to the inn for a meal but not to stay.

We had a very enjoyable break and we’re blessed with super weather. The location is handy for visiting the East Neuk. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful and the food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast. Our break was very good value. The rooms themselves are quite small and a bit tired but the dining areas are pleasant.

Lovely 2 nights DBB. The room was adequate for a comfy stay and serviced which we didn't expect. The food was great, beautifully presented and freshly cooked with a good variety to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely use it again.

Lovely break away. We were warmly welcomed by the owner on arrival and once we had our luggage in the rooms, we enjoyed homemade warm scones and tea which were absolutely delicious. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed although they could do with a freshen up. The dinner was amazing. We dined both nights and the food was first class, just what you would have got in a top hotel. The staff were friendly and Michael gave us first class attention, nothing was a problem to him. Mike the staff are a credit to your business and I hope you Inn continues to go from strength to strength. We will be back. Thank You all. Allison Jolly

Lovely stay at the inn. Food was first class. I felt it could have been made more comfortable in the lounge area- No atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and polite. Would certainly stay again.

The hotel is clean and beautiful and the staff are very friendly. I'd recommend the food even if you're not staying there. We cut our bisit short as the mattresses are far too soft for us and need replaced. Still waiting for the company to call me for a refund.

Really good value hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Our accommodation was a chalet type room which was very good and spacious. Tea/coffee provided and plenty storage for clothing and other items. The quality and quantity of food available in the dining room was excellent and well worth sampling. The hotel is well located on a main road into St Andrews and only some 6 miles of so from the town. When we visited there were road closures on the direct route but there are many other well signposted local roads which get you there and to other local towns. Dundee is close at hand and also worth a visit with the new V&A and Discovery Museums adjacent to each other. There are so many places of interest to see near the Hotel and Falkland Palace is close-by for those interested in Scottish History. All in it was a very good deal and worth a visit.

Spent a very enjoyable couple of nights in an upgraded room. For some reason our booking had not been registered but the staff were very helpful in sorting it out, fortunately I had my booking confirmation with me.

This is an absolute hidden gem of a hotel. From check in to departure we had excellent service and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The manager Jack and indeed his whole team are so friendly and personable, nothing is a problem and they all seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. The food was absolutely fantastic and well presented. The breakfast menu has a great range of options and I can recommend the smoked salmon eggs benedict - all credit to a great chef! I have been very fortunate to stay in some good hotels at home and abroad, but I have to say that The Inn at Lathones could give quite a few of them a run for their money. We hope to return in the future and would not hesitate to recommend.

Stayed a few days last week at this lovely quirky hotel. A bit different that the rooms are in a small courtyard. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the rooms were good and the food was excellent. Hope to return sometime soon.

2 night stay here and we enjoyed every minute of our stay, the room was lovely, warm and a nice big bathroom. The staff were lovely and the meals were delicious, fresh and hot, we will definitely be back again.

Charming old hotel, with the quirkiness that comes with age. Decor in some areas a bit tired, but could be explained by 2 yrs of Covid. Room spotless except for dusty and worn chairs. All of aforementioned was compensated by the wonderful staff service and excellent food.

Fantastic value ! The staff were all so courteous and friendly , and great choices for me menu wise, as I need gluten free. Nothing was any trouble . The food was delicious, our rooms were clean and very cosy and our stay was a perfect tonic .We will most certainly be back .

From the moment my wife and I arrived, we were blown away by the walk to the reception area and how peaceful and romantic it was. On checking in, the Manager Aaron was so welcoming and ran through the entire process and explained everything we needed to know. He then walked us to the room to ensure everything was just perfect. We then had a welcome treat, tea / coffee and scones, again, Aaron was amazing. To the evening meal, what can I say, WOW. Seated next to the well stocked wood fire, we made our orders with the equally amazing waitress, Nina. The food was excellent, we could not fault anything. Throughout our stay, we were, as were all the guests, made to feel special, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Everyone made our stay special. In short, Aaron, Nina, Brian and all the staff were amazing, so helpful. The food was absolutely amazing.

Great staff, beautiful dining room with a huge log fire to keep you cosy and a comfortable lounge bar with a welcoming log burning stove. Guests are encouraged to fuel the lounge fire themselves. Standard bedroom looking tired and quite small. The shower over the bath was useless and flooded the floor! Dinner was great but breakfast portions varied greatly depending on what you ordered. Would definitely stay again because the staff were so welcoming and took time to chat.
