We really enjoyed our stay at the Cardrona Hotel. The food was excellent and the staff were efficient and very friendly. We stayed on a 3 night DBB Package and we will most certainly go back. There are also lovely walks along the River Tweed which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Bryan & Sue Dick

A VERY PLEASANT STAY. THE ROOMS AND FOOD WERE FIRST CLASS. THE HOTEL WAS VERY BUSY ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AND WE HAD TO WAIT FOR A TABLE AT BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY MORNING, BUT OTHER THAN THAT WE HAD NO COMPLAINTS.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Thanks to Classic Britain we received a complimentary room upgrade to a golf view room. Both dinner and breakfast were lovely. The swimming pool was a good size with a good sauna and steam room. I visited the spa too and this was lovely. Overall, a really nice hotel in lovely surroundings. I would recommend it.

I felt the hotel was very busy and there was nowhere to sit and have drink at night as sitting area was limited. We had a party of 12 and had to go out for dinner as could not accommodate us until 9.30pm in the restaurant.

Many thanks to the very professional staff at the Cardrona for making my 5 day stay there most enjoyable. This little gem is a credit to the Macdonald chain of hotels. Roll on my next visit. Outstanding in every way.

Just back from a fantastic party night at the Cardrona. The food and entertainment on the party night was excellent as was the breakfast the following morning. The pool was a good size for an invigorating swim. I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel and recommending it to others looking for a party venue or just a break away.

Loved our stay at the Hotel. Pool facilities were excellent. Breakfast was worthe getting up for. A bit disappointed in dinner. Noveau Cuisine. Could not order from the other menu and eat in the restaurant. If you wanted the other menue then you had to eat in the lounge.

We enjoyed our overnight stay very much. Rooms were of a very high standard and the Staff were able to provide rooms suitable for my parents. Reception and waiting staff were very courteous. Unfortunately, residents with a dog had little regard for others and left the dog barking in the room while they relaxed. I had to bring this to the attention of Reception Staff. The staff spoke to the owners and we were offered a change of room if the situation continued. Thankfully we did not have to do this as it was clearly only an issue when the dog was left unattended. The Hotel Leisure facilities were good with a large swimmming pool, sauna and steam room. The gym was very good with plenty of equipment for use. I didn't have any Spa treatments this visit but would definately consider it in the future. The changing facilities were beginning to show signs of some minor maintenence with some broken tiles in shower area but I would expect that these are noted and will be included in the maintenence programmme. Food at dinner and at breakfast was of a very high standard and would definately recommend. Additional side orders were overpriced but this is more of an industry norm. Drinks prices were in line with other Hotel prices of this standard. Overall this hotel is of a very good standard with leisure facilities suited for a short break. I would recommend it and will return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, excellent value with the deal we got through Classic Britain. We have used CB many times now, and again their service was faultless. A couple of negative comments to make about Cardrona though. We felt the overall temperature around the building was a bit too low for the time of year and the water in the pool could have been warmer as well. Also the service in the restaurant for our dinner in the evening, although very pleasant, was extremely slow. We had to ask twice for a beer and actually had to disturb our meal and go chase up for a glass of wine which was a bit frustrating. Hopefully these are easily rectified and we would certainly give the hotel another chance.

Enjoyed a 2 night DBB package with Spa treatment early Dec'13. Only negative comment surrounded change of dirty towels in room --having gone to breakfast on our first morning, we left used hand and bath towels in shower cubicle for replacement - on returning,we noticed that the cleaner had just left our room and,expecting to have received two clean towels,we were astonished to see that she had just put our two used,wet towels on the hot rail. It was probably assumed by her that we had gone out for the day and if that had been the case the towels would have dried before we got back and we would have been none the wiser that they had not been changed. We eventually received a clean pair of towels and reported the incident to reception staff when leaving. Would not have expected this issue in a 4 star hotel and was this an isolated incident or is this a habit specific to this particular cleaner?

A second trip to the hotel - and we enjoyed our stay much better. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean. However the juice glasses again at breakfast needed a thorough cleaning. Overall the staff are friendily and we had a pleasant stay.

My husband and I stayed for two nights. Cannot fault this place whatsoever. Staff were so friendly and helpful, food was lovely, rooms were clean bright and very spacious and great leisure facilities. Great couple of days to chill out before the Christmas rush. Will definitely be back.
