Having read some of the 'iffy'Trip Advisor reviews after making our booking for a 3 night stay we had some reservations about staying at the Cardrona. We could not have been more wrong. The standard of service we received from all staff was excellent. Reception had given us a room upgrade as it was my birthday whilst staying there so we had a room with a view overlooking the golf course and river Tweed (even number rooms). The food was lovely on the evening meals and hot breakfast choices were cooked to order. The wine was expensive at

Had a lovely relaxing break with my two boys. Played Golf,used the Spa facilities very nice although no Jacuzzi, disappointed about that, overall a really nice break.Staff very helpful and food was very good.Bar tariffs a bit pricey:(

Spa treatment amazing! No jacuzzi but otherwise all good. Staff were very efficient and pleasant. Would definitely stay again.

not impressed with this hotel, not very homely, felt you were intruding there space, i generally like to sit in a lounge, enjoy the atmosphere and have a few drinks and relax, but none of the above were pleasant, sorry to say i would not recommend.

all staff very friendly just a small thing I think restaurant staff could do with extra training maybe some biscuits next to tea & coffee facilities in room very shocked to be told from bar staff on Monday evening they were closing the bar at 10:30 other than that beautiful hotel I would love to go back

Lovely hotel, fantastic value thanks to an upgrade from Classic Britain and a further upgrade by hotel itself to their Saturday dinner dance. Staff were excellent, friendly and attentive, special mention of Michael who worked his socks off both Friday and Saturday. Food of excellent quality, Friday night portions a bit meagre but put right on Saturday at the dinner dance. Would definitely go back on a similar deal(we go away around this time every year)next year, although we did miss out on the promised chocolates in our room. Bar was very expensive, totally overpriced for wine and cocktails although beer was much more fairly priced. Weather and surroundings made it a great weekend.

We love this hotel & will definitely stay again. Maybe only downside was we found the bar prices very expensive.

E.verything about our one night stay was top class. Our room was very comfortable and the bed was massive. The evening meal was excellent and the staff were polite and attentive. Definitely intend to go back

We are repeat visitors to this hotel and are already booked for February. However, the hotel had clearly stretched itself beyond its limit this weekend which detracted from the atmosphere somewhat. Bar area limited by set up of additional restaurant tables; pre dinner service somewhat chaotic and lacking our expected nibbles and menu order service with drinks; no warm bread pre starter and,I may be wrong, but the lack of white linen tablecloths at dinner made the meal seem a little down market. Quality of food still very high but these little extra make all the difference. We hope normal service will be resumed a few months from now when we return.a

Enjoyed our stay. The Cardrona is a beautiful hotel, the only criticism was when we arrived we were told our room wasn't ready and after 45 minutes wait we went back to reception and were told they forgot to tell us it was ready. The food was lovely but again the only criticism was it was the same menu each night..

The service was prompt,polite and professional.The room was spotless as were the pool and leisure facilities.There were no chocolates in our room however when I asked at reception this was quickly remedied.The dinner and breakfast were well presented and good quality. Overall a relaxing stay on a sunny autumn day. I will definitely be back.

Unfortunately didn't get the room upgrade , but this didn't diminish our enjoyment. Great leisure facilities, but you need to book treatments well ahead to avoid disappointment . Wonderful location , great hotel, excellent value and we hope to return.

There were no chocolates in room, i did mention at reception, but they still did not offer them.There is not enough lounge space for sitting having a drink, when the hotel is busy. ie.... before dinner & after dinner. we had to go back to our room after dinner.

On arrival our booking was incorrect, but was sorted out quickly and satisfactorily. Breakfast on our last morning was quite slow.

If we had been staying for more than 2 days i would not have eaten in hotel as menue was very limited for my taste. wine a bit over priced compaired to other hotels i have stayed in. Istill thought you hotel was very good and what a lovely place it is situated in thank you

Overall a very good hotel. Poor pillows in the bedroom is about the only critique I could give, everything else was very good. Would recommend to friends.
