Fantastic hotel, Fantastic staff Food great,but the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I’ve slept on. But looking forward to going Bach ?

Room was tired but with nice outlook and perfectly adequate. Food was very good but a salmon fillet was, to say the least, on the small side. Despite two weddings and two coach parties service was excellent by friendly professional staff. One minor irritation could be that whereas we were happy that we hadn't been overcharged in the restaurant (against the DB+B allowance) the bill was so strangely itemised that it was impossible to check. Probably wouldn't be our first choice for a special occasion but for a bargain break it's a very good deal.

Had a lovely weekend at Gretna Hall. The bar and restaurant is modern and pleasantly decorated. I would also like to say the food was fantastic and the price of the stay was definitely great value. Will be visiting again.

We enjoyed an overnight stay service and food exceeded our expectations. We were a party of 2 couples one room was spacious and comfortable would score a 9out of ten however the other room was small and stuffy and would only score a 4 out of ten, would return but would be requesting specific room.

I had the most fantastic stay at Gretna Hall Hotel. The bedroom was just perfect with a vast picturesque garden view. Only thing that mabe needed some attention was the bathroom floor, I am aware that upgrading works are ongoing at the hotel. The evening meal taken In the bar area was absolutely perfect in sumptuous surroundings. The morning breakfast eaten in the restaurant well exceeded my expectations. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was varied and soooo truly tasty. I would return to this hotel in a heart beat. My stay was fantastic value for money and Gretna is a beautiful Scottish town. Thank you Gretna Hall Hotel

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Public areas all look very nice and modern. Unfortunately the bedroom accommodation we had was not to the same standard and our bathroom especially needed a refurb. You could hear every step the guests above our room made and when next door ran a bath you would have thought Vesuvius had erupted in our bathroom pipework. Dinner was very good in terms of quality & service and there was a wide choice at the buffet breakfast but the hot food was rather dried up. Having stayed at their sister hotel Greens of Gretna we had hoped this hotel would be of a similar standard. Glad we were only breaking our journey here for one night

Well pleased with our stay at this hotel . It was a wee bit of a distance from the desk but it is a converted grand house so many corners and corridors to navigate. The food was not bad but there isn't enough explanation of the ingredients in the dishes . I wouldn't have ordered the meal if I'd known it had black pudding in it . I did tell the waiter and he said he'd look into it as of we don't tell them they won't know for the future. All in all a very nice room and the best sleep ever for both of us. They also bent over backwards to accommodate my gluten free diet . Will definitely return.

The advert on myhotelbreak.com States refurbished rooms....but apparently the honeymoon rooms are the only ones refurbished....room very tired. The Bar and restaurant area are very nice and hopefully the rooms will be upgraded to the same standard.

Room and bathroom good size, just a bit tired but hotel is undergoing refurbishment. What has already been done is good.Staff friendly. Evening meal good but hot breakfast little dried out by heat lamps but very good value on the deal we had.

I am really sorry to have to write this review but I’m being honest! We was looking forward to staying here and upon arrival everything seemed ok, checked in and made our way to the room, as soon as we entered there was a spider dangling from the ceiling, the room smelt peculiar, the carpet was dirty there was hairs and black bits in the bed and on the sheet ,the bed was ridiculously small and it wasn’t a standard double bed, the light fitting in the bedroom was hanging out and looked like someone had tried to shove it back in with some sort of substance to hold it which obviously hadn’t worked, there were brown stains on the curtains, the chair in the room was covered in what looked like biscuit crumbs and general dirt, the walls and paintwork were in a terrible state and I know the place was going under refurbishment but surely that had a better room than this one , I went to open the patio doors to find it already unlocked yet there was no key, I had to go to reception to ask only to be told there was no key apart from a master key which she couldn’t give me in case it got lost but would come to the room to lock the doors when we needed it, we found this rather bizarre if I hadn’t opened the doors to let some air in , I would of never known they were unlocked and being close to the car park anyone could if walked in! The wet room looked like it had just been done , nothing spectacular but it was ok , I think they need to look at there finishing touches though or get new builders who care about the details , the way the flooring had been cut around pipes was horrendous, it seemed like it had been rushed, after a long drive and having to clean the bed and chair we decided to stay and give it a chance, we went for dinner in the restaurant and it looked nicely done , looking at the menu if you didn’t order a burger that came with chips you had to order sides separately at a separate cost with any other menu item , £3.50 for a small bowl of horrible tasting chips is extortionate , it was the same if you wanted mash, we found it rather peculiar , food wasn’t the best either not very nice at all and we couldn’t eat it, we left and just went back to the room , we didn’t have the best nights sleep the room was very hot and seemed the mattress was on its last legs, we felt every spring. I went for breakfast on my own, it was a buffet style breakfast , it was resonable except on the cold side, the only thing I can praise about this hotel is the staff they were all friendly and polite, on the way out we encountered the biggest roach I have ever seen in my life scurrying down the hallway ewwww, however it’s safe to say we won’t be staying here again, sorry!

the hotel was lovely ...the food in the eveing was lovely ...but the waitress taking our order was pushy did not give us much time to look at the menu.for the price we paid .was well worth the stay.there was a wedding party in the lounge were other guest were sitting.unfortunetly theres waschildren running aroundcrlike it was a play ground and a toddler crawling on the floor.there was staff carrying drinks and glasses,breakfeast could have been better the resturant manager was not freindly at breakfeast....

Fabulous night away. Hotel reception, bar and restaurant all well decorated from recent refurbishment. Bedroom was tired! Bed too soft for me but otherwise a fabulous night. We will be booking again and cannot wait to see the refurbished bedrooms in the future
