hotel is a little dated but clean and tidy. staff were very friendly ,food was good and bar even better.

The stay was made good by the staff when we arrived they had not received instructions I gave about the shower .The ramp unfortunately is no good for a normal wheel chair the staff were brilliant and moved rooms for us food was delicious as was the wine xxx

The ramp is something that we are looking into as due to the listed status on the building we can not use an alternative. Three of us stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. One of the rooms had to be changed out, there was a net screen on the bed and a musty smell in the room. To top it off the chef opened the door and walked into the room late at night. The food I have to say was terrible; I had two dishes that had to be returned and my brother and his partner were both sick on return to their room

The hotel looks a little tired on the outside but smarter inside. The staff were great.

Good location friendly staff, food was poor unfortunately the chef let the staff down, but waiting staff very helpful. Breakfast was ok eggs were like rubber and the crockery was gritty had to go through a lot before I found a clean bowl.we had a executive room it was very roomy and nicely decorated but they have let themselves down with the bathroom it is so old and dated and defo stele needs a makeover.

Had to ask to change room as they put us in twin rooms and we had asked for double on the classic Britten site other than that hotel staff were very helpful and would go back with no problem

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear you weren't 100% satisfied with your stay. I am really surprised about the comments regarding the chicken dish you refer to. This is one of our best selling dishes and we usually get really good feedback from our guests on this dish. Again we usually get really good feedback from our breakfast too. We did have a wedding in the hotel on the Saturday night, last orders from our function bar is 12.30am with finishing time of 1am, we monitor the noise levels constantly along with the noise of the night clubs across the road from us, so they would have been within the acceptable noise levels. I am glad to see you gave us higher ratings for the service and bedroom. Many thanks for your comments, I do hope you will return to us in the future to try us again.

Position of this hotel near train station and pedestrianized street at night,full of bars and clubs around corner, made it extremely noisey throughout the night plus taxi rank opposite bedroom windows police everywhere throwing people in back of their vans!! Disappointing as we were looking for a nice quiet relaxing weekend shopping and sight seeing - we were shattered on the Sunday after hardly any sleep On a positive note the food and staff were very good at this hotel just unfortunate location so near so many bars

We had a relaxed time. Staff were helpful but also unobtrusive. Wr were so busy talking after dinner that we didnt notice the time and the staff didnt bother us at all even though they were delayed finishing up. Receptionist was also very helpful and welcoming.

we had a bit of a problem with a noisy fan outside the room when we arrived and would not accept it,but this was quickly resolved by the staff who were very helpful.the price of food and drink are far too high for this establishment.

room was good and the food was excellent - seemed to be confusion when we paid the bill as they tried to charge for dinner even though we had the deal for DBB and sparkling wine

Stayed for one night on a really good deal for DBB+ wine and upgrade. The hotel was full so we didn't get the upgrade which was understandable. The room was ok - but the furniture was a bit shabby. The bed was really comfy though. Dinner wasn't great - we tried to order the Chateaubriand and were told - it's on the menu but we never have it as it hardly gets ordered. The sirloin was gristly - not just fatty. Breakfast was really good. On balance - I'd stay for Bed and Breakfast again but would probably eat dinner out. For the price it was good.

Value for money. Got good deal . Room was a bit tired but not bad ,clean enough though. 1 or 2 small things. Not enough to complain. If price was right we would go back..

Disgusting bathroom,terrible view, this was supposed to be an upgrade, service in restaurant slow and unprofessional, would not stay again

It is hard for me to comment as your feedback is limited and looking back nothing has been reported during your stay directly to us. The room allocated was one of our upgraded rooms, being in the City Center we do not have the views that some country style hotels do. I am at a loss to explain the restaurant service as I said looking at the feedback from that night it was all positive and no negative comments have been reported by the staff on duty. There was a party at the hotel and food service was slow. It was advertised as having a free bottle of champagne in the room - it was Australian sparkling wine, not even Champagne method. There was loud music coming from next door at 01.30 in the morning. Not bad.

Receptionist was polite on arrival and checked us in although our complimentary upgrade was not offered until I inquired about it. There was no problem and we were upgraded and our bubbly was moved to our room. The room (111) was a good size with a large light bathroom although both were 'tired '. We constantly had doors slamming as it was next to the cleaning room even early in the morning. The restaurant didn't have our reservation when we went for our meal but found us a table immediately. They explained there was a large party due in for a meal so we rushed to get our order in. The party arrived early and the restaurant became noisy and everyone seemed rushed off their feet. The meal was nice and the waitress was lovely and kept apologising to us. The breakfast menu had a large choice of cereal and hot food although we ate at 8am and some of the hot choices were only warm. All this said the bed was comfortable and the staff were nice and friendly.
