Had a great time at the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made a big effort with our daughter (11 months old). The waitress for our dinner on both nights was particularly friendly and welcoming. Would definitely go back here!

Found manager rather wearing -- could hear his voice everywhere, and very irritating habit of saying "no problem" to everything! Other staff charming.

Our second stay at this hotel and will definitely return. Excellent all round and tremendous value. Friendly and efficient staff, comfortable rooms and lounge areas and great food. Also the perfect location for exploring this beautiful island

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Isle of Mull hotel. Food was excellent and rooms were confortable. Only slight disappointment was that the hot tub wasn't working properly. Would gladly go back again.

The staff were very friendly (esp Morag at pool). The housekeeping staff cleaned room and remained invisible / unobtrusive. I would question if room 33 was a family room and reflects the reduced score below. The food quality was excellent - Crerar hotels seem to be promoting sample menu and this should be highlighted when bookings are being taken for DBB, steak was slow in arriving and well worth the wait (hotel should advertise the Thursday steak night in prominent place eg blackboard). It is ideally situated for walks in Garmony, Salen and Tobermory with Erraid and Iona in opposite direction.

We have stayed at the hotel 5 times now-this time we had a lovely family room which appeared to have been fairly recently decorated. It is however time they look at replacing the window frames-no point in having a spectacular view if you can't see through the window because they are usually steamed up (and too winy to have them open!)! Breakfast absolutely excellent-evening meal main course choices limited to 3 and not really to our taste (didn't think the 'small supplement' we were told about for alternative choices were small at all!). In the past the meal was always completed in the lounge (with spectacular views)with complimentary tea or coffee. This had had been replaced with the option to buy coffee at

This hotel had excellent facilities, was convenient for ferry, lovely views from our room. Nice coastal walks, but a bit remote. Rooms could do with a makeover, but were comfortable and well furnished.

I do not usually leave reviews on hotels, however having read some of the reviews on Trip Advisor re this hotel, seem to me to be particularly unfair. The hotel is not the most striking to look at from the outside and the bedrooms can be a fair distance from the main public areas (these are effectively the only negatives), this may be to allow most rooms to have good front facing views. The bedrooms are clean, comfortable and spacious with the en suites being clean and perhaps needing some updating. The food supplied on DBB basis was very good with the service being efficient and pleasant. Dinning room is positioned to afford a great view across the bay. The hotel offers Spa facilities which again benefit from terrific views. The Spa has a good size swimming pool, sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub, these are all available to guests. Spa treatments are also available at additional costs. All the public areas are spacious and comfortable again affording good views. Overall our 3 day stay was relaxing and very good value. I would happily return.

Very welcoming-small problem with shaver light. Was not repaired during our 5 day stay. Explanation of being on a island not convincing.

Hotel reply...

hello and thanks for your feedback and pleased to see we were welcoming, so sorry you were not happy with the issue with repairs to your shaver light, Whilst we do try to hold a stock of items to replace, there are occasions when we do need to order and regretfully living on an island can mean a wait of up to 5-7 days for deliveries. Similalry if there is a requriement to call in a tradesman, this can also take several days. I am sorry this was an inconvenience to you but hope that overall you were happy with your stay and would return. Kind regards Neal Goldsmith General Manager

All in all a nice hotel, but it could be made so, so much better with just a few improvements, replacing the windows would be a start and some of the carpet was a bit tired. The beds were very, very uncomfortable and the single room was below average standard. The food was good overall, with breakfast being great.

Hotel reply...

hello and thanks for your comments. As with all hotels there is always an ongoing refurbishment programme and since your visit we have replaced several worn carpets and mattresses, and continued with the decorating programme, With all large hotels this is constant. Sorry you felt the single room was below the standard you expected. Many thanks Hilary Goldsmith General Manager

What a lovely hotel! Location ideal with super views from the hotel over to the ferry and castle. Only thing we wouldn't have changed was the weather! Staff in particular in the dining room were excellent and friendly. Food fab too! One of the best value for money breaks we've ever been on.

could have done with a bit more information given to us on the Leisure facilities. I felt it was not highlighted by the Check in staff at all.

We had a wonderful stay. The fod in terestaurant was really good. The staff in the restaurant were especially efficient and friendly. My only negative woud be the cleaning of our room. This coud have been better eg our bathroom sink I don't think was cleaned properly during our stay. Cups and saucers were stained with tea/ coffee before we even used them. These are small details that could easily be remedied. However, this did not spoil our stay.

The rooms need some maintenance, a broken fan that just kept going dies not make for a good nights sleep. Would have like some more information in the rooms on the hotels services and what to do in the area.

A very very happy stay. Staff were great, very welcoming and helpfull. Swimming pool was a great bonus, especially for our 2 year old. Only downside - room was pretty cold when we arrived and took a while to heat up. The addition of a soft play area would also give the hotel a bigger attraction for families.
