On arrival at check in we had our temperature checked as per Covid guidelines. Reception staff where very friendly and explained bar and dining rules. Room143, was larger than expected, decor was excellent and the room was spotlessly clean. Credit to the domestic staff. Our evening meal was superb, great value on our deal and breakfast was just as good. Well organised table service allowed one table at a time to be served buffet style. Well done to the waitresses working so hard in these difficult times. Felt very safe and had a fabulous stay. Definitely be back it’s a great deal.

Was most impressed with the hotel in general . Very friendly at reception , Room clean . Both dinner and breakfast were extremely good , with generous portions . Plan on returning in near future .

We had a lovely overnight stay. Reception, bar and dining area look to have been recently refurbished. All were spotlessly clean and the staff were absolutely lovely. The evening meal was delicious and after dinner drinks in the bar were very relaxing. The accommodation area looked a little dated however our room was spotless and the bed was very comfy.

Great Hotel with great staff, lovely comfortable rooms, wee bit dated but not unduly so. Food was excellent, great value for money. Great situation for exploring Ayrshire and Arran. Largs and Fairlie worth a wee visit. One smallish issue, Covid 19 precautions were more than adequate but some guests wandering about with no masks, ody from hotel challenged them.

Everything was fantastic on our visit. Our only minor complaint was having to wait over an hour for our room to be ready, we knew it could be 3p.m. before being ready but was after 4p.m. we got into our room. Apart from that, it will not put us off having a return visit.

Excellent stay at the Riverside hotel, we had a fantastic room, we felt safe with the procedures that are in place for sterilising & cleaning due to Covid 19. Food was delicious on both nights of our stay as was cooked breakfast.

The room was huge and had patio door overlooking the garden which was fabulous. Breakfast not good, scrambled eggs were watery with no flavour, cooked produce not great and general lack of attention to customers. Evening meal was beautiful, well cooked and very tasty. Unfortunately the lack of any social distancing in bar area (groups of 8 and 10 people sat together), lack of guests wearing any flask masks, little evidence of tables being sanitised between customers and bar prices (the highest of anywhere else we’d had a drink during the week) put us off using the bar. Staff made no attempt to ensure mask wearing which made us feel unsafe.

Had the best time on Sunday. Total relaxation out in the sun with some wine and topped off with the best meal ever. Only stay 20 mins away but will definitely be back.

Hotel was really nice and room was lovely . We were unable to check in till 4 pm . As dinner was included it was from a set menu . Choice wasn’t great for me . I requested 2 starters as didn’t fancy the mains .Starters were not very warm . Asked for fries with my starter for my main which was an additional £2.95. My husband had a large glass of wine which cost £7.50 . Dearest glass of wine ever . Lovely hotel but wouldn’t rush back .

My husband and myself had a lovely overnight stay at this beautiful hotel. It has been totally refurbished and no expense has been spared. We upgraded to a deluxe room which was massive and very comfortable. The staff were very nice and the two course dinner we had at night was excellent and very good quality. We will certainly visit this hotel again and would recommend it to friends.

This hotel was so relaxing, just what myself and sister wanted, staff friendly, hotel very clean. Kitchen made mistake with my order, but it was rectified straight away and I was also given a free drink as an apology. Would definitely go back.
