Good location, staff friendly. Only adv comment would be that the desserts at dinner were well below standard in comparison to the rest of the food.

Unfortunately our room was very run down, the bathroom door would not close. Toilet would not flush properly and water running all the time. Radiators not working to dry towels only a plug in electric heater. Puddles in corridor from leaking radiators. Hotel staff very polite and friendly. Hotel was clearly under staffed for about of residents. Food nice but cold due to staff sortages from kitchen to table. Complained to head waitress that our hot desserts was cold and wasn't charged for them. We were not travelling with animals, so very disappointed to be located on a floor full of dogs. We have nothing against dogs but did not appreciate hearing barking during the night during oir relaxing break!

This hotel is a real gem! Wonderful setting and comfortable rooms with friendly helpful staff. Yes there were problems at breakfast time at the weekend due to COVID restrictions and staff shortages but they coped and the food was good as was the food at dinner. Would definitely recommend and visit again

Stayed for hubby's 65th birthday on a 2 day deal with sabrina river cruise in. lovely location Hotel very clean but a bit tired !!! Lovely balcony overlooking lake and nice scenic views but balcony would of benefited from a clean and a tree was growing out of the grid.Not in walking distance to any local restaurants,pubs but a short drive away !!! If you like a nice walks then it is ideal.All the staff were really helpful pleasant and courteous and very busy at all times but there was just not enough of them to cater for the amount staying although hotel knew they had a busy weekend ahead as we were called before our stay and asked to book our meal times as they were going to be very busy which was not a problem .Per covid regulations in bar as we fully understood drinks have to be ordered whilst seated which again was not a problem ! But ourselves and 2 other couple ended up leaving the bar as in a period of 1 and a half hours we only managed to get 1 drink as the girls were so busy having to also serve drinks to people dining in restaurant running back and forth, not their fault they were doing a great job .Did not like attitude of Genral manager Maybe caught him on an off day,but should not effect his professionalism, we had reported on day of arrival we had no heating in our room it was not a problem in the day but became chilly early evening when we were wanting to shower managed to get a portable electric heater later that night,on asking next morning for update on heating General manager came over and informed us that heating was not on now anyway..tried to explain the day time was not a problem but it was cold in bathroom of an evening he said put heater in front of bathroom door to direct heat into bathroom told him heater only had short cable and no plug near bathroom he just walked away, no one spoke to us again about the heating!!! I fully understand that you can not help maintenance issues and possibly radiators just needed bleeding ....but it was his attitude we spoke to another 2 other couples who also found him to be a bit offhand with them also.It was really a good deal in a lovely part of the country

Nice hotel. Our garden room with balcony overlooked the lake and surrounding area. The view was spectacular. Our evening meal was very good and dining room well spaced. Breakfast was buffet style and unfortunately not so good, overcooked and not very hot although plenty of choice. Because of COVID they were understaffed but still very friendly and helpful.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy had a view over the garden. The hotel grounds were very well maintained and nice to sit in or walk round. The breakfast was excellent and all the communal rooms were pleasant.

Came here after spending 3 days in a what was called 4 star hotel in York. Buckatree was far superior the room was better the food was of a better quality and better selection,and a quarter of the price. The staff were brilliant the ambience was great. The room was comfortable but only had view of car park package advertised superior room with scenic view The shower head was broken and washbasin cracked and dirty In evening very short staffed in bar leaving dirty glasses on table and very slow service Restaurant service was good both evening and breakfast I did raise bathroom issues on checkout

Slow brvice by staff on Saturday night. Ran out of branded bottled beer on bank holiday weekend. Housekeeping forgot to sweep balcony-rubbish had been left there & obviously not been touched since last lockdown(ironwork full of cobwebs) On plus side, lovely position

Really enjoyed our stay. Very good value for money. Staff very friendly and professional. Room excellent with everything we needed. Food was excellent and decided to have our second nights dinner here as well. Great river trip which was a great added bonus. All in all a much needed terrific break.

Easy no hassle parking and nice and quiet at night( we were situated in an end room) with a nice balcony a shame we didn't get to use it due to weather !

Very nice hotel and very well located for all the area has to offer. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. Only a small choice of draft ales but we managed somehow. Would recommend and would definitely use again.

The hotel was lovely. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast and evening meal was amazing. Cooked and presented very well. Only thing I would say is the rooms are very tired looking and dark. Could do with some TLC. But over all a lovely pleasant stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night break. Friendly welcoming staff, and a lovely room with fantastic view over the lake. Will be booking again soon. Special mention to the maitre d in the restaurant, a real character and a real nice guy.

The hotel appeared clean and staff were attentive. If I had known that coaches used this hotel I would not have booked. The break was good value. pillows were lumpy.

Downside : bedroom very cold, no heating. Given heater which helped. 2nd night had to change rooms as no electricity!!!
