Building is lovely as are the staff!. Loved the garden spa and my facial. Facial by Chloe, was amazing :) Me and my boyfriend had a fantastic few days away, feeling relaxed and chilled, would definitely recommend for a treat away

My partner and I enjoyed a two night dinner, bed and breakfast break which included a 2 hour hydrotherapy session and a tour of the Lakeland Distillery. The hotel is very nice, decent sized room and very good food, especially in the main restaurant. Apart from the frosty receptionist when we checked, all the staff were very friendly and helpful despite these difficult times. Throughly recommended.

Hotel is lovely ideally located for the Lake District and had a great stay. They managed COVID restrictions very well. The spa was lovely and very enjoyable. Food was delicious and the champagne tails amazing! Staff very friendly and helpful. The gin and fizz offer was great, but the gin miniature in the room should have been 1 per person, not just 1 between 2!

Amazing spa area, old traditional hotel with lovely staff. We stayed in coach house just a short walk from main hotel, nice room but a little small for two people. Overall food in was ok (breakfast pancakes really nice) not many options for vegetarians.

Stayed for 2 night break in the original building, did need updating but also we had no Wifi in our room for the whole stay. Staff reset the system a couple of times but to no avail. Courtney was extremely lovely and would recommend any spa treatment in a break. The restaurant staff were very attentive under Covid conditions maybe a stay at this hotel without Covid may be much pleasant.

We had a lovely stay at Appleby Manor and would definitely return and would highly recommend. Our room was beautiful. The restaurant was amazing and the food delicious. Breakfast was equally tasty as was the food in the bistro on our 2nd night. Due to government regulations we could not make full ise of the aqua spa experience but what we could use was really good and just what we needed to relax. Staff were lovely amd we felt perfectly safe in the current climate. Definitely give this hotel a go you wont regret it. Worth every penny.

Had a really lovely stay. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is really nice and fully deserves its 4 star rating. The food in both restaurants was superb. The visit was made special with lots of nice touches like biscuits with tea etc. The only small thing was the poor quality of the toilet paper which is false economy as you use more. Hence the 9 score for the room.

Excellent location, staff, food outstanding and the spa very relaxing. Rooms very comfortable and giving the current situation re Covid the staff attention to maintaining a clean and safe environment ensures your stay is memorable. If your gry try the one pot in the Bistro ?

We stayed here for two nightsDBB.Hotel was lovely, spotlessly clean and all covid precautions in place and excellent staff. We ate in the bistro and the restaurant and all the food was really good, also breakfast great on both days. We used the Spa, the pool was lovely, we used the hot tub in the garden area which was gorgeous, we were the only ones in there. We would definitely recommend this hotel, excellent value for money.

Room was a little dated and unsure on full clean as was some dirt around the room; including stain on bed runner. Would also be better to be part of hotel as opposed to being in an external annexe. However, the hotel itself was nice and the food was absolutely amazing. The staff could not have been better either with the service in what are challenging times with the COVID19 restrictions. Heat was off for pool/hot tub in the spa but this was still fine to use as was not overly cold.

On the whole a very enjoyable place to stay. The food was very good, as was the service with polite and friendly staff throughout. The bar was a little disappointing, with no draught ale and only a couple of local bottled ales to choose from. We had a nice room in the courtyard but it felt a little dated. For example, for most people these days a charging point or at the very least a plug socket by or near the bed is a minimum - only two usable in the room and both at the other side! Other than that the room was adequate, clean and comfortable.

Lovely old hotel, great food and friendly staff, very clean throughout the hotel.Very good covid precautions in place, hand sanitizer and everyone had to wear a mask when moving about the hotel. Our room had a seal over the door to show it had been cleaned thoroughly. Would definitely go back

Our recent break at Appleby Manor was of a high standard - plus points - staff excellent - meals very high quality - cleanliness - hand sanitizer stations well appointed through out hotel - grounds surroundings very pleasant - minus points - i was contacted by the spa before travel to book my three hour slot which had been shortened to a two hour slot - when the explanation was given - this was so the spa area could be cleaned before other guests used so now reduced two hour slot - although there web site still shows three hours - when we arrived we were informed that all there hot rooms were closed and so only had the use of two outdoor spa's and a indoor hydrotherapy pool the receptionist that called stated the reduction in time would be reflected in the price - i had to ask about this and the mere amount of £10 was removed not each in total - rooms tidy clean - but very warm - there is no air conditioning in the rooms although when a request for a fan was made this was supplied - although only a small desk fan making little to no difference - with the now normal weather conditions a larger fan should be left in the room / wardrobe - the web site photographs show beer fonts in the bar - these are old photographs as there is only bottle beers available - although we had a great time both at the hotel and the surrounding area - wont be rushing back

Overall a lovely stay staff friendly room clean and worked really hard at keeping dining room clean etc , no extras in room when we arrived, there was supposed to be treats and a bottle of prosecco , we had to ask for them twice , only a tiny bottle of prosecco arrived, no gin miniature or treats .bit of a shame as we had paid a good bit extra for the garden room , in saying that we would come back . Dinner on both evenings good , breakfast not so good for my husband as he could only have 2 rashers of bacon and a tiny slice of tomato as he is gluten and dairy free .
