travelled with an 82 year old, another with mobility problem with a mobility scooter. Requested 3 ground floor rooms next to each other, was assured the previous day before arriving that we had 3 ground floor rooms - no 2 were up stairs. Room 12 person had to contend with 3 doors - obviously the door to the room plus an inner door and via another fire door ? Staff were very helpful but this should not have happend. I had previously asked management about accessibility - they had grab rails - no grab rails on the walls - so no use, they did offer a bath seat which we did not use. If you do not have a mobility problem or are a wheelchair user you may not understand how small things can make such a difference i.e. walking with a stick the distance between room 1 and room 12 can mar your holiday. Corridors etc. were wide enough and the rooms large enough to accommodate having the mobility scooter which is a bonus. Dining room entrance doors are double and wheelchair access easy by simply a slight movement of the stand depending on the a size of the chair. Carpets in the hall in some places are a bit wavy which may cause difficulty for a person with a mobility aid. Reading this may sound petty but small things make a difference to people who can't walk or hardly walk and also may be in pain. However, gardens were lovely - access good, staff great and would recommend it. Staff at the pool great and helpful with the ladies with mobility problem but not really accessible; those with lesser mobility problems with help of friend, family, can manage the steps into the pool (has handrail); sauna and steam room (very small step and the latter a 2/3 " slope at the door). One thing in the sauna coals near the door and someone with a mobility problem will support themself on the barrier to the coals to get in - a stumble could result in a bad burn. Jacuzzi(has a high step)- definately not for wheelchairs user.

We really enjoyed our stay because the hotel has a very welcoming and happy atmosphere. Our bedroom, though well-equipped, bright and spacious was a little disappointing as there were no views from the two large windows. Unfortunately being located next to rooms and an area used by staff we were woken at 5 am with loud banging and moving around noises that sounded so close it was almost as if it was happening in our room. The dinner and dining room were pleasant and well-presented and we appreciated the traditional taking of orders and coffee afterwards in the bar/lounge area. The cooked breakfast was surprisingly lacking in flavour but the overall breakfast experience was good with interesting cereal choices, fruit, meats and cheeses to cater for all morning tastes. I would like to commend the hotel for their staff and their helpful and cheerful service as well as the comfortable and very pleasant lounges and other areas the guests could use.

Overnight stay for 4 couples. Package we had booked was excellent value for money. The receptionist was very friendly and knowledgeable and dealt with any queries very quickly and efficiently. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. The staff in the bar and restaurant were very welcoming and we had a great rapport with the Maitre D as she made us feel that nothing was a bother. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast choices were also great. We will certainly come back again.

Had a nice break with young niece here and made good use of leisure facilities across road at Windlestrae. Food was good and staff very helpful and accommodating. My husband was sorry he was unable to join us this time. I feel Classic Britain would benefit by advertising Green's Guests have free access to the Windlestrae's pool/sauna etc.

On booking on line I thought we were going to be staying in the Green Hotel but we were sent across the road to the sister hotel which was 3 Star. It was good but I would have preferred the Green. The bedroom was very comfortable but there was no shampoo, soap etc but when asked they were brought quickly. Also the TV picture was quite jumpy. The evening meal was excellent and the young waiter was very nice and helpful and had a very pleasant manner. I would return again.

Tip - Book your time for dinner at the small Basil's Restaurant, prior to arrival or you'll be finishing your meal at 10pm. - too late to eat dessert- so missed out. Plus if your deal includes a free bottle of wine, it will be in your room and you will NOT be allowed to take it into dinner -- but then you won't want to, unless you like vinegar on your chips ! Some areas of the hotel are a wee bit tired and dated for a 4 star, although our room in the older original building was warm, large and clean. Staff are all very helpful and friendly and are trying to be efficient ( refreshing change to hear local accents !!! ). Our stay was let down by a very limited dinner menu ( table de hote only - with no a la carte !!)and poor food. - Strangely, we sat at a table which had AA rosettes for "cultural excellence" from 2007 up to 2012-13 adorning the wall ??! ( those chefs must have moved on elsewhere ? ) The rubbish chefs - At our dinner presented "seared pigeon breast" starter which was sair, we ordered sirloin steaks ( an extra supplement ) both ( med/wd ) had to be sent back TWICE one was twice well overcooked, whilst the other was twice raw in the inside!!! Others also complained about their steaks. We settled for a simple pre-packed chicken meal in the end. I get the impression that it's all bought in "microtherm" stuff from Brakes. Breakfast selection is poor for a 4 star hotel, only fried eggs,no boiled or scrambled to be seen, no blackpudding ( or was it just soggy haggis? ) 10am finish on a Sunday !!! , hot food badly laid out causing congestion with no hot plates!! - ( please invest in a sprung-loaded electric plate warmer ). Even though we got a good deal through CB, we would not return. - CB should also state on their website - book dinner prior to arrival if a Saturday evening. I think the restaurant is named Basil's for a reason - Que? - No hasta Luego.

Enjoyed stay, but could have done with a bit of entertainment at night. this is always difficult in scottish hotels when holidaying with children.Family room great size, food good selection, good situation for going places during day. Thought staff in some restaurants could have been a bit more accomodating, and put a smile on their face.also could have done with more staff in Jocks bar, long wait for food.

We thourghly enjoyed our stay. We arrived with our 2 boys (6&3) and were given a cottage instead of a room as they thought it would be better for the kids. It had 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, open plan living room and kitchen. Very clean and modern. The boys loved it!! We had our evening meal in Bazils both nights. The food was great and the service was amazing, especially James, Katie and Callum who went that extra mile for us but were especially great with the kids who adored them. The buffet style breakfast had a good choice and everything was cooked well. Used their sister hotel for the swimming pool which we all had a great time in. Will be back to try out the golf and spa next time (child free).

a great break, only down side was i had asked for a high floor at time off booking which was on my invoice, this was obviously overlooked by reception,we were given a low level floor next to kitchen,we could have complained but why if it was already asked for at time off booking, other than that it was fine

It was good value for money on the twixmas break. The restaurant food was superb, the service from the restaurant could be improved. Would have liked some music playing in the background in the lounges. Also in this modern day wifi should be more widespread throughout the hotel and not primarily in the lounge only. The room we were in really needs more power sockets as there were only 2 under the tv unit. Overall the room was lovely and the receptionists were really friendly and attentive. Would go back on a similar deal in the future.

Nice hotel, good room. Only disappointing thing was part of the service as we had to wait around two hours for the room to be ready. They did apologise, but this felt a long time.
