We enjoyed our stay at the Columbo and we're pleased with our room and the service from the staff, but the food left a bit to be desired. Breakfast food was plentiful with a good choice and the buffet serving worked quite well but we were not impressed with the food on offer for the evening meal.

The hotel is in a nice position overlooking the river. Our room was at the rear and lacked a view but it was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was a bit tired with a few cracked floor tiles. The service was good and staff were pleasant but slightly over zealous in the dining room where your plate was at risk of being taken even if you were just taking a breather. I have stayed at the hotel before and the food had been great so I was slightly disappointed with the evening meal but breakfast redeemed the rating. Overall a pleasant stay and I would stay again but perhaps on a bed and breakfast tariff.

Very friendly staff. Rooms are ok but we had a back room which was very noisy from traffic. Food lovely. Great central location.

Booked 2 rooms and paid for upgrade. On arrival the upgrade had not been noticed by staff and standard Ros were allocated, when questioned the hotel manager seemed to be upset that we dared question him. I would have expected an apology. We eventually got the rooms asked for. Hotel manager needs a refresher on customer service. Good in resteraunt was cold and chip reheated. Not a good stay this time.

read reviews of this hotel i thought about cancelling I AM GLAD I DID NOT the bedroom was spotless and warm and spacious the receptionists informed us of everything about the hotel ie times of breakfast and dinner everyone at the meals were very polite and nothing was to much bother for them the dinner on both nights could not be faulted in any way the breakfast was buffet style and there was a wide variety of choices for a continental or full cooked breakfast the cooked breakfast was not hot just warm all in all it was a very pleasurable stay and i would reccomend it to anyone

Only real concern was wall heater in room, that didn't real heat room and seem outdated, not good for this time of year and poor room lighting also.

There were queues at the buffet breakfast on both mornings of our stay due to residents waiting for eggs and black pudding etc. We ate in the bistro on the second night of our stay and there were no steaks at 7p.m.There also seemed to be a shortage of staff in the bar/bistro as there were a lot of tables littered with dirty plates and glasses although the two members of staff who were on duty were doing their best and were very pleasant

My wife and friends have been using columba hotel for many years now and I am disappointed to say this has been the worst weekend I have spent there the evening meals were terrible, the buffet breakfast on Saturday morning was ridiculous there was no food dishes replaced as soon as they were empty and had to wait and then ask how long they would be and I am just not talking about one dish no bacon, fried eggs, sausages tomatoes The evening meal on Saturday w moved to McNabs bistro which contained a lot of noisy football supporters who were rowdy My opinion is this was no place to sit and have a meal I would appreciate so feedback from classic britian

Stayed on the 29th December, bitterly cold outside room lovely and warm. Stayed in the disabled room - could swing your wheelchair round, light switches at apropriate level, bathroom was good. Only negative and very minor, could do with a lick of paint in some places and the shower spurted a wee bit, but hotel receptionist stated engineer had been called already and was waiting for him to come and that the hotel was going to be painted. All in all worth the money and will be lovely in the summer as the hotel is right on the river bank. Pub, restaurants adjacent to the hotel, cocktail bar, restaurants, shops easy walk to get to and the castle is exactly opposite the hotel. Inverness centre is easily accessible for wheelchair users and those with mobility problems.

Good deal but our room was not serviced after first day in hotel. Returned at night to room as we left it. Reception staff offered to send someone up but we were tired after being out all day so declined. Hopefully just a blip. Shame there is no car parking with this hotel. Would not have booked if known as my mum has a disabled pass and can't walk far.

Double room very comfortable if rather small, really big bed, very comfortable too. Nice to see 2 chairs as most rooms only seem to provide one! Buffet breakfast was good, great choice, food was warm. Staff very pleasant. Only downside is having to park 400 yds away but understandable considering hotel location near river.Would definitely go back again.

We stayed in room 316 within the Columba hotel inverness. Good entrance and receptionist was friendly and welcoming. Nice bar area within the hotel and really good reasonable prices. Room was nice and clean. The bathroom within the room bit undesirable. There is obviously a damp issue within the bathroom as the ceiling was covered in moldy damp patches all over the ceiling. The bath tub had a large gouge in it near to the plug. We never checked in until half past nine at night and due to my partner being unwell could not be bothered with the hassle of complaining to the staff and just made do with what the room/ bathroom offered. The breakfast in the morning was adequate. The fired eggs were a bit rubbery and if thrown on the floor would probably bounce. Everything else was fine and the restaraunt staff were friendly. The deal was a cheap bed and breakfast deal. Other than the issues with the bathroom regarding the damp ok stay but would not stay again.
