Stayed here for two nights and I must say I was quite impressed. Rooms have all the facil but could do with a little bit of tidying up. Main areas require a little bit of an update but were cosy and warm with log fires in the Reception and Lounge areas. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. Asked for softer pillows and within a couple of hours they were on the bed in our room. Food was outstanding. Full breakfast which was hot and plentiful. We had an evening meal on one night, steak which was cooked beautifully and the service could not be faulted. Waiting for the next deal with myhotelbreak and we will certainly be back!

Enjoyed our stay, all staff very polite and friendly. A little disappointed in welcome tray - no biscuits! especially as this was an upgraded room. Restaurant let them down slightly poor selection for dinner . I had chicken & Leek pie which I would have enjoyed much better if gravy had been served in a jug and had not been beef gravy all over the plate.( not a lover of gravy)

Well worth the money we paid however the hotel is tired and dated. Needs double glazing, better heating system as it was v cold in some areas and it needs to install wireless WiFi. Otherwise a great stay and yes we will definitely return.

The hotel reception/lounge and restaurant were lovely (restaurant ceiling requiring attention). I believe the hotel is in the process of being renovated. Our room was adequate, we did receive a good deal with the bed/breakfast and one night dinner for £130 this was great for the ground floor room with patio doors. However, my friends had rooms on second floor and apart from us having patio doors/ground floor I couldn't quite get how that costs £40 pounds more for double room felt steep. Again rooms inside/outside in need of updating which i know is in progress. Bathroom most definitely as felt very clinical and not warm and inviting. I would stay again as staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed on DBB, excellent value for money. Food was delicious, although menu was better on our last stay. Room was clean, tidy. Disappointed to hear that DBB deals were no longer available due to hotel under new ownership. Stayed several times before, however, would only return if deals are available.

We had a wonderful family get together at The Gretna Hall Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay there and have returned time after time as we know the staff, food and surroundings are perfect for us. The only down side is that we sometimes cannot get booked in due to its popularity. We look forward to returning again in the very near future. Best wishes to you all at The Gretna Hall Hotel.

Absolutely fantastic. Staff are great , food was great and everything was clean and tidy. Could probably have done with more staff, as there were three wedding parties and a bus party all booked in when we were there. Staff were trying to do bar food on top of serving drinks. Staff always smiling, and worked very hard. Special praise to Magda. We also got a tour of the outhouses, which was a great history lesson. We will return.

We had a great stay enjoyed our 2 days there. On the day we were leaving my husband took ill they let us stay in our room late.we felt that the cleaner should get in to clean the room for incoming guests so went to the lounge after about ten minutes the stafered him a room to have a lie down in.Ii cannot fault the staff they were excellent.we had a room overlooking the garden it had everything we needed. This is our third stay and plan to go back again next year.A big thank you the hotel foe all there help

Comfy room especially for a person with mobility problems and really nice for hubby to sit outside in the patio which was much appreciated.

No room in the Shower/Toilet for storage except the high window ledge which was not suitable so toiletries were left on the floor. Also no top (grill) on the plug hole so if you dropped anything it went straight down into the u bend.

We spent an enjoyable 3 nights, 2 DBB and 1 BB last week. The hotel is very nice, convenient for Carlisle, the Lake District, the Scottish Borders and Dumfries. We had a lovely room, very clean and fresh. Restaurant was excellent, food very good and well served. All staff very friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend.

the hotel was fine for what we paid for it.the staff were friendly and helpful. The room we were in only had a shower which didn`t work very well and when you turned the basin tap on you had to stand a foot away from it as it seemed to have a air lock and the water shot out.The meal we had on the first night was spoilt by being covered with too much sauce,it was swimming in it. As i say for what we paid we can`t complain.
