This was our third stay at the hotel but unfortunately not the best. The dinner let our stay down. My wife's starter (melon) was hard and I had some vegetables missing from my mains. I mentioned this to the head waiter but he made a joke about it. Otherwise it was a good stay.

When checking in was advised only opening for dinner was 6pm.No one to greet us in restaurant at 6pm & we were only diners until 7pm.Food however was excellent.Arrived for breakfast at 9.40 & waited 20 mins for table for 6.Although couples arriving after us were immediately seated.Slow at replenishing hot dishes & ran out of croissants & pastries very quickly. Also had to query bill as we were charged for 2 bottles of wine although we had booked deal with Classic Britain for dinner bed & breakfast with bottle of wine for each room. Very nice girl (Emma)at reception quickly amended the bill but we were puzzled as to why this happened. Surely hotel should know what bookings they take.

Hotel was really good and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that our stay was DBB with wine. We would have expected the wine to be served at dinner however it was left in our room. We did not wish to walk in to dinner with a bottle of wine in our hand and the waitress had to run to our room to pick up the wine and bring it to our table. All felt a little uncomfortable and would have been easy to sort if they ask guests at checkin for a preference and then either have wine delivered to room or available at dinner. Other than this, stay was great.

when we arrived the hotel didnt have our booking - so we waited 40minutes for this to be checked after i called classic britain direct. we got upgraded into preminum room, as rhe booking at the hotel was over looked.

Meal was very good. Hotel badly needs upgrading, definitely not a 4 star..... bedroom was not nice at all, friends with us agree totally. Breakfast was like a cattle market, too many tables..... shame as chef in the evening is obviously 1st class....

Our break was most enjoyable. It would have been even better if the request I had made by phone for a dinner table near the entrance to the dining room had been delivered especially as I had to make the reservation again on arrival. Also breakfast on Sunday was quite disorganised with food not replenished very quickly. That aside we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily visit again

We had a lovely stay, the room was nice, we had a dbb deal, the staff were all very friendly, the food was delicious and the staff in the restaurant were particularly friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back for another stay.

Only problem that the Hotel added the cost of the "inclusive" bottle of wine to the bill........deducted when requested. Have already fed this back to Classic Britain and the Highland Hotel.
