Woodlands Hotel, Broughty Ferry

Went for 2 night stay at Woodlands Hotel with dinner included in first night. Checked in and reception staff was lovely and helpful. Arrived in room, we booked a king size room. Didn’t ask for complimentary upgrade. The room was stifling, they obviously knew about the heat as fan was in the room and windows open. Was so hot throughout the stay was uncomfortable to sleep. Food: we were sitting in the bar when a stranger said to us hope your not getting eating here the food it rotten!! So we were a little apprehensive about going for dinner. Dinner was ok. And breakfast was buffet style continental with hot foods available. Overall decent hotel, a little out the way from town. 25 mins walk with hardly any taxi on road if planning on going down. We didn’t use the facilities tbh I’m glad I didn’t due to heat.

Got deal which was 2 nights stay with dinner on first night and breakfast on both mornings. Room was allocated on second floor. Room and toilet looked nice although the heat in the room the both nights was unbearable and that was with both windows open and there was a fan provided. Just as well didn’t use facilities of heath suite as it was far too warm, sickly heat. Maybe request ground floor room?? Dinner was ok, didn't help that somebody who was having a drink in the hotel said on our first day your not eating in here, food isnt nice filled us with dread. Overall hotel was nice, not central to Broughty Ferry, 25 mins away from the town centre walking. Not many taxis around should you wish to venture down to the town

We booked a twin room with walk in shower, but given an easy access room with wet room; not ideal, but acceptable. Breakfast was a bit of a hit or miss, never been a fan of hot buffet. Dinner was great, as were all staff during our stay. We’ll be back.

Staff were excellent and extremely helpful. Great local knowledge. Service was great. Hotel is a little tired and we did not get the promised upgrade to a superior room, and weren’t told this until we asked. Rubbish showers and no toiletries other than very cheap shower gel. Long walk required to get to beach or main shopping/restaurant area

The hotel was lovely staff friendly and very helpful, our room had everything that was needed for a few days away, there is also a swimming pool and a gym. The gardens outside were well attended, it’s only a 15/20 minute run in the bus into Dundee, which is nice and has a few historical buildings there. Would visit again

Had a wonderful one night stay at the Woodland Hotel, Broughty Ferry. Lovely hotel inside and out with spa facilities. Excellent friendly staff, fantastic hot good quality food. Will definitely be back again.

On checking in got room key and when went to room wasn't a complimentary upgrade as stated on deal. Contacted receptionist and was given another room with walk in shower. Very helpful and friendly staff. We were very dissapointed with evening meal. Breaded fish was as hard as anything and very little fish inside. I did inform waiting staff and reception and Was told they would pass it on to kitchen. Breakfast was nice though. I would stay again but not have evening meal.

A very good 3 star hotel, staff and facilities were excellent, only slight downside was price of lunches on offer for example a portion of chips £4!! otherwise would definitely return.

fantastic room. staff very helpfull. bar was nic n relaxing. 2nd time stayed at this hotel will certainly stay there next time i am in that area of scotland. was there for a funeral not able to have any meals their due to meeting family/friends which we have not seen for quite a few years.

Checkin was friendly and efficient. Room comfortable and clean. Hotel busy so had a bit of a buzz which was nice. Restaurant meals and service good. Leisure facilities good . Nothing to complain about .pleasant couple of nights

Very enjoyable stay at the Woodlands. Room was very clean and comfortable with lots of space. Food was excellent. Used leisure facilities on both days, and it was great to see all the facilities available (pool / sauna / steam room), after being unable to enjoy these during the pandemic. Will definitely return to this hotel in future.

A very friendly welcome at check in, and an early one too. Room was fine, clean enough and well appointed. I made use of the leisure facilities, which, for the size of the hotel, were decent. We had a meal in restaurant (our booking was DBB & Btl of wine) and it was very good. Great choice available. Breakfast was buffet style help yourself, but not.... you could handle the cereal, bread, milk but the staff served hot food. We were told it was still a precaution for covid, but it didn't make sense based on what you gould help yourself to.... however, it didn't deter. All in all, a very good deal and I'd definitely do again.

Really liked this hotel, lovely big room and everything spotlessly clean including pool area. Enjoyed our dinner and breakfasts. All the staff friendly and helpful. Walking distance into town and bus stop nearby. Hope to stay there again.
