Our personal forest choice when visiting Oban first class staff rooms and food. Always made to feel very welcome like visiting old friends. Perfect location for entire town. Always desperate to return.

Some staff were very offhand & uninterested in us as people, but some were pleasant. Double glazing would greatly help Columba Hotel Oban as traffic noise & wind was a drawback.

The only thing that let the hotel down was the lady on reception in the morning when we were leaving the hotel. We went to the reception to hand our door card back and she was to busy talking to her friend on the phone to speak to us. Not one word. Very rude. All other staff were very friendly. Would book this hotel again tho.

Having stayed at the Columba Hotel about twice a year for the last 20 yrs I can not fault it at all sure you can't please everybody all the time, if you are looking for a clean hotel and good meals without fancy ness u cannot beat the Columba from reception staff to cleaners and for value for money it's hard to beat, safely to say we will be back in April 2014 looking forward to it already.

My wife, sister & brother in-law & myself had a lovely weekend in Oban, made even better with the hospitality, service & accommodation @ the Columba Hotel which was really excellent & appreciated, I would also like to highlight the excellent service provided by Emma in the dining room, nothing was a problem to her & she is a credit to the Hotel. Just back from a lovely 3 day break at the Columba hotel . The hotel is old however full of character . The staff are all great and helpful . There is a lift to take you up stairs . I will use this hotel again .

Room was comfortable with great view. Staff friendly but lacking in customer service skills. Breakfast below average and dinner was very poor.As a frequent traveller to this area would not stay here again

Another comfortable stay at the Columba. Room very pleasant, comfy bed, good shower. Staff very helpful and nice folk. Only negative for me would be the lack of choice at breakfast, eggs always fried and rather hard, but my husband thinks the breakfast ok. Evening meals good, I like being able to get Indian (curries and pakoras) food as well as Scottish.

Room 12 or Windows was a fantastic room. It certainly added to our stay at the hotel. All the staff in the hotel were efficient and friendly. The food was very basic and could be improved. Would return to the hotel.

both myself and my wife really enjoyed our short stay at the columba hotel and would recommend it to our friends and family and when we are back in oban we will be booking again into the hotel special mention about the staff as they couldnt have been nicerfrom the minute we arrived till we left

Just returned from our 2nd visit this year and from the minute we arrived the service was great. The only negative was that on the Sat night the dining room was hectic and guests had to wait a long time in between courses.We had a great view from our room 111 and will certainly be back.Great deal.

Stayed another 2 nights this time with my elderly mother. The room was excellent with spectacular views. The room was cleaned and catered to the highest standard each day by exceptionally pleasant and efficient staff. The afternoon tea and food in the restuarant was excellent. The management and staff in this hotel seem to work seemlessly and create a great ambience for visitors. An absolute treat for myself and my Mother. Thank you.

Stayed 2 nights in room 101. My single bed was very worn and uncomfortable. My sisters next to me was absolutely fine. She couldn't believe the difference when she tried mine. Mentioned this to the staff just to let them know. The staff are exceedingly welcoming and friendly which will ensure my return. Very clean and great food. Having stayed in most hotels in Oban The Columba is my firm favourite.

We stayed at this hotel 22nd, 23rd March 2013. The room was very nice, spacious and lovely view of the coast. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, bit disappointed with the evening meal, however overall great stay.
